Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Which this week comes to you all the way and I mean all the way from Adelaide in Australia. We just finished up a fantastic week in Japan and we arrived in Perth. Couple of days rehearsals and a stonking show last night and here we are in Adelaide. We finish next week in Sydney and I have sixty minutes of fantastic music for you tonight. Mostly Australian themed but a couple of brand new things thrown in as well. But what am I gonna start off with?. What else? AC/DC."

AC/DC

"I will never forget the first time I saw that band. It was at the Sheffield Top Rank of all places. It was the loudest thing I have ever heard in my life. My ears as a sixteen year old kid were still ringing three days later. AC/DC title track of the album Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap."

The Struts

"Now as I said at the top of the show it is mostly an Australian themed show this week. But there's brand new music out there and it has to be heard because it is The Struts."

"And before that The Struts from their brand new album Young And Dangerous. Long may it reign. The song, amazing bit of work, 21st Century Dandy." - (actually only found as one of two bonus tracks on the Japanese version)

Space Waltz

"Very androgynous. Very David Bowie-esque and very 1975 and very Australian. That is a band fronted by a guy called Alastair Riddell. They are called Space Waltz. The song that we just heard is called Beautiful Boy."

Greta Van Fleet

"Now this week sees a very young and very fresh Michigan based rock band go straight in at Number Three on the American Hot 100 album charts. And they say rock is dead, really?. This is Greta Van Fleet."

"And before that Greta Van Fleet straight in at Number Three on the American chart. Not even the rock chart, the actual real chart. The album is Anthem Of A Peaceful Army. The song we just heard Brave New World."

The Easybeats

"A song once recorded by David Bowie for his covers album in 1973. The album was Pin-Ups. That is the original version by a band called The Easybeats which featured Vanda and Young who were Angus and Malcolm Young's uncles and produced the first five or six AC/DC albums. The band are The Easybeats with their classic welcome to the weekend song Friday On My Mind."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show on the wonderful Planet Rock. This week coming to you all the way from down under in Adelaide, Australia. It is time for a little break and when we come back, one of the most popular pop rock anthems. Emphasis on pop, that you will ever hear."

John Farnham

"And before that to his fans down here he was known as little Johnny Farham because he started off as a really young kid. But to us for the rest of the world when he was a grown up he was just John Farnham. Just John Farhamm? what a song. What a voice. The song You're The Voice."

Cold Chisel

"That is a band called Cold Chisel featuring one of the best rock vocalists of all time Mr. Jimmy Barnes who is an absolute legend down here in Australia. The song we just heard You Got Nothing I Want."

Icehouse

"One of the most successful 1980s bands out of Australia were this crowd. This is Icehouse."

"And before that Icehouse. Fantastic bit of work, with a song called Crazy."

Sherbet

"I gotta be honest it's the only song that I have ever heard from that band. They're kinda a little bit like Jo Jo Gunne in that respect for me. Jo Jo Gunne were an American band who had this one hit single in 1972 called Run Run Run. And this band from Australia called Sherbet had this one hit single in the UK in 1976 and what a song. The song is Howzat. You don't have to be a cricket fan to like it."

INXS

"Well you couldn't do an Australian themed show without playing this band. They were enormous in their day and they were magnificent. This is INXS."

"And before that INXS featuring the much missed Michael "Hutchence" from their album Welcome To Wherever You Are with the song, very reminiscent of the Rolling Stones' As Tears Go By. The song we heard Heaven Sent."

Rose Tattoo

"Some fantastic slide guitar playing there. That is Rose Tattoo from their 2007 album Blood Brothers. The song Once In A Lifetime."

Show Outro

"And that my friends all the way from Adelaide is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time all the way from Sydney."

"So until then I'm gonna leave you with some classic Australian punk. I bought this single when I was sixteen years old. 12 inch picture disc and guess what?. I still have it. This is The Saints with This Perfect Day. Until next week see ya!."
