Def Leppard played another show with Journey on the 2018 North American tour last night in Toronto, ON with 16 songs performed.

The show took place at the 55,000 capacity Rogers Centre stadium.

The band last played Toronto on 16th July 2016 on the Summer Tour 2016.

The 14th show by the band in this city and first at this venue.

The venue usually holds 47,000 fans for concerts and over 40,000 attended last night's show. The largest venue and crowd the band had played to in Canada.

The first visit here took place at Maple Leaf Gardens 10th June 1983 during the Pyromania tour.

The third show the band had ever played in Canada following on from shows in Montreal (9th) and Quebec City (7th).

They would return in June 1988 and play the only one-end/outdoor show of the Hysteria tour in Canada at CNE Grandstand.

This venue would be played again in August 1993 on the Adrenalize tour preceded by the only In The Round show ever played in Toronto at Maple Leaf Gardens in October 1992.

Since July 1996 every show in this city has been played at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre. The 'Canadian' was not added to the name until the 2001 show.

The other shows took place in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Last night's show was the first of only two scheduled Canadian dates on the 2018 tour. The other being Vancouver in October.

Setlist

'When Love & Hate Collide' was played for the first time in full electric form. It had been played twice acoustically in November 1995 at the last two 'Vault' promo tour shows.

The stage design was basically the same but also included large video panels either side of the stage.

Opening Act

Peter Frampton opened the show. The first of the ten stadium shows with a third act on the bill. He played a well received six song set that included many of his most famous songs and a cover of Soundgarden's 'Black Hole Sun'. Ans as you can see below Vivian says he is the 'nicest person'.

O Canada

Journey's Neal Schon performed the Canadian National Anthem 'O Canada' during his second guitar solo spot. This received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Joe Attends Emm Gryner/Trent Severn Show

Joe went to see a show by Emm Gryner and her band Trent Severn on 31st May at Toronto's Heliconian Club. He attended the show with David Bowie guitarist Earl Slick who then attended DL's show at Rogers Centre - view a photo below.
