DEF LEPPARD End 2018 World Tour In LONDON, ENGLAND (Show Report)
Def Leppard played the final show of the 2018 Hysteria tour last night in London, England with 17 songs performed.
The show took place at the capacity The SSE Arena, Wembley.
The final night of the UK and Ireland Hysteria & More tour.
The 83rd and final show of the main 2018 world tour and 84th show overall this year.
The band's first time in London since 6th December 2018 on the same tour.
The 38th appearance by the band in this city and ninth time at this venue.
The first visit here was in September 1979 at Hammersmith Odeon with Sammy Hagar.
They would return to play their first headline show in October at Imperial College (close to the Royal Albert Hall).
Four shows followed at Hammersmith Odeon with AC/DC in November before four dates were played in 1980 at the Marquee Club, Camden Music Machine and Lyceum Theatre.
A total of six shows were played between July 1981 and September 1987 at Hammersmith Odeon including three nights in September 1987 on the original hysteria tour.
I February 1983 Phil Collen's first show was played at the Marquee Club at the start of the Pyromania world tour.
Two more Hysteria tour shows were played in April 1988 at Wembley Arena. The band have now played seven London Hysteria tour shows between 1987 and 2018. Five in 1987/1988 and two in 2018. The 1988 dates were also the band's first UK arena shows at a time when technically there were only two major UK arenas, Wembley and the Birmingham NEC.
In 1992 the Freddie Mercury Tribute show was played at the original Wembley Stadium before two Adrenalize In The Round shows were played at Earls Court Arena (also since demolished).
A run of three Wembley Arena shows then took place between 1996 and 1999 on the Slang and Euphoria tours.

Joe Elliott - Pre-Armageddon It Speech
"That is a mighty fine noise. Good evening Wembley!. This is our second show in London on this particular tour. So it's a really weird one to say Good evening London again. So we'll stick with Wembley tonight. I know a lot of people have travelled to be here. It's a very special night for us tonight. It's the very last show of the tour. It's the very last show of the year. This is show 83 since we started way back in May I think it was. What a f**king amazing place to finish in. Thank you for being here with us tonight on this momentous occasion.:
"How we doing out there?. Well as you know we are here to celebrate an album that was released on the 3rd of August 1987. Which by my reckoning makes it 31 years old this year. And guess what here we still are!. Thank you. Thank you. This album changed our lives. It gave us the opportunity to do this all over the world and finally to bring this album in its entirety from start to finish back to the UK. Something that we've dreamed of doing for years. So thanks for being part of this. We really do appreciate it. 31 years since...thank you....wow we have a lively bunch tonight. Oh yeah. That's 31 years in anybody's life time is things happen man. You can imagine what's happened in your life in 31 years. In our 31 years snce that album came out lots of things have happened. Some bad, some good. But the biggest achievement I believe that's happened during those 31 years is that this lineup has stayed together for 26 of those 31 years. Which is my very long winded way of introducing you to the new boy. All the way from...hello...Belfast in Northern Ireland make a lot of noise please for Mr. Vivian Campbell!."
Joe Elliott - Love And Affection Intro/Outro
"Thank you. Thank you very much Wembley. Alright for the last time on this tour. Let's take this thing home!."
"Wembley. London, England. The World. We give you, and you, and you, and you. Hysteria 2018. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you people. It's been a blast. See you later."
Joe Elliott - Pre-Promises Speech
"Thank you. Thank you so much. What an amazing way to end the year. This is fantastic it really is. Look at this. Look at this. It's loud. It's hot f**k. I mean I thought the O2 was the hottest one but this has just blown it out the water. It's so hot my fingers are slipping off the strings and I don't even f**king play a guitar!~. It's that hot right. But that's the way we like it and we like it loud and we love you for that."
"It has been an amazing year. It started for us in March at the Royal Albert Hall. When Roger Daltrey very kindly asked us to play for the Teenage Cancer Trust gig. It was one of the best shows that we've ever done and we loved it so much it just set us off on an amazing journey that will end in March 2019 at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. For which we can only thank you guys because you voted us in. Anybody that voted, you put us in the. It was the biggest fan vote of all time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for that because without you we'd be nothing. And we love the fact that we can do this with you guys forever. As long as we want. As long as you want us to keep coming back we'll keep coming back 'cause this is what we do. So thank you."
"So alright you've. You enjoy that?. That was an album from start to finish. Every note squeezed out as best we could. What we'd like to do for ya right now is some stuff that came before Hysteria and some stuff that came after Hysteria. We like to swap it out a little bit every night. And I believe it's Phil's choice tonight of a song. So over to you."
Joe Elliott - End Of Show Speech
"Thank you Wembley. Thank you London or wherever you have travelled from to be here tonight. It's been a real pleasure playing for you people. Let's do this again one day. Goodnight!. And uh...Merry Christmas!."
"Thank you everybody really. Thanks for helping us end an amazing year. It started in London and it finished in London. Unbelievable thank you. Until next time. And there will be a next time!. Do us a big favour yeah. Don't forget us and we won't forget you. Goodnight!."
