Double T/96.7 The Eagle - Phil Collen Interview Quotes
Producing The Tesla Album
"Yeah more than family actually. You know I just finished producing their new album as well. We've gotta mix it and stuff. So it's - but we've done all thee recording and that. And we done a lot of it while we've been on tour. We've been touring together for the last two years. You know we'd go backstage or find a dirty little room or I don't know, whatever to record guitars and stuff. The album is phenomenal. It's actually one of the best things I've been involved in. It's so diverse. It sounds like everything from you know Queen, Beatles, Zeppelin. You name it, it's got all these influences and we're really excited about that. So yeah that'll be coming out later on. I don't know exactly when that's gonna be."
2017 Tour With Tesla/Poison
"But yeah they've been with us forever and we've toured with Poison as well before. You know we're really good friend with all of them. Backstage is such a great vibe and it's three bands that are - I keep saying we're celebrating integrity. All three bands in Poison it's the four original members. You know same thing with Tesla. One person's different and obviously you know our story. So it's not karaoke versions of these bands. It's the real deal and I think fans are really appreciating that and they're going crazy. So we're seeing such an amazing response from the audiences and the shows are sold out. It's been brilliant."
Joe's Singing Voice/Live Show
"We always do that anyway. It's a given. We wouldn't get up on stage if we weren't gonna go a 100 - a million percent, you know what I mean?. So there's that thing. One thing I noticed with us is we get better every year. The singing gets better. Joe had a little health scare with his throat a couple - about a year and a half ago. And you know he's been having all these lessons and different ways to adjust his throat and everything. You know I've never heard him sing this well, ever since I've known him. It's pretty amazing. So everyone is playing better and singing better. So for us that's a thrill as well. You know you go out and everyone goes - 'Ooh as you get older you get worse'. Absolute opposite you know we try harder and we get better. And that really shows as well so that's fantastic."
Delta Deep/Live Album
"We have one album out already and we actually recorded a live album last year. That's gonna be coming out pretty soon. And I think we're gonna release a track probably within the next month off of that and that sounds great. It's amazing."
