Def Leppard released their C'mon C'mon single 9 years ago on this day in 2008 in the UK.
The second single to be released from the 'Songs From The Sparkle Lounge' album.
The song did not reach the main UK singles chart.
It was released as a 12" UK Tour Edition picture disc vinyl on 14th July 2008.
The first UK vinyl release for a single (outside of promos) since the 'Action' 7" in January 1994.
The single version appeared on the A-Side with a live version of 'Rocket' on the B-Side.>/p>
The full version from the 1993 Don Vallery show which had been edited on the UK 'Vault' bonus live CD.
The front side of the picture disc featured a back background with the classic Def Leppard logo in the middle along with a front cover sticker in the top left.
The other side featured a smaller version of the logo at the top and at the bottom the track names and credits.
A radio edit of the song was included on UK and US 1-track promo CDs featuring a picture sleeve.
The black card inside the plastic sleeve featured all of the June/July 2008 UK tour dates.
The release of the single coincided with the start of leg 2 in Cardiff, Wales.
'C'mon C'mon' was later used in the USA by the NHL who played the song during hockey games. Although an appearance at the NHL Rocks Off event on October did not go according to plan for everyone in the band.

Phil Collen - 2008 Interview Quotes
"C'mon C'mon was the key to it, really. We've been trying to write a hockey anthem for awhile. Whenever you go to a hockey games, they always play "Rock and Roll (Part 2)" by Gary Glitter, and growing up in England in the '70s, we were very infuenced by that kind of stuff. We had this song on 'Euphoria' album called 'Back In Your Face', which was very much along those lines, but that didn't work out. But with 'C'mon C'mon' we started getting interest, and then the NHL asked us to do the kickoff of the season. We were like, "Wow, this is [perfect"."
Joe Elliott - June 2011 Interview Quotes
"When Sav wrote "C'mon C'mon," three, four years ago, I actually turned around to him and said, "I can hear this in hockey arenas." It wasn't like it was manufactured to be in one, it's just that kind of music that gets used, whether it be hockey or basketball or football. And, lo and behold, we were on tour, and days off you're flicking through the channels and occasionally you just get to one of these things, hearing "C'mon C'mon" getting played!."
C'mon C'mon - UK Promo CD Sticker
"The legendary Def Leppard release new single C'mon C'mon on July 14th. New album 'Songs From The Sparkle Lounge' has won massive acclaim & entered the UK top 10 and US top 5. In a recent 5/5 live review in Kerrang Magazine editor Paul Brannigan labelled C'mon C'mon a "stadium slayer". With more UK arena dates in July the DL juggernaut shows no signs of slowing down!."
NHL - 2008 News Quotes
"A little over 24 hours before one of the all-time great rock bands takes the stage at the Fox Theatre down the street, the festivities got under way at Joe Louis Arena, where the hockey portion of NHL Face-Off Rocks 2008 will take place when the Detroit Red Wings meet the Toronto Maple Leafs (7 p.m. ET, VERSUS, CBC, RIS)."
"Undoubtedly, both Joe Louis Arena and the Fox Theatre will be rocking Thursday night, as the Wings raise their 2007-08 Stanley Cup championship banner to the rafters before hosting the Leafs. Meanwhile, Def Leppard will play their hit, “C’Mon, C’Mon,” an arena-inspired song that certainly will be played at arenas around the NHL throughout the course of the season."
