Ricky Warwick recently shared his memories of the late David Bowie with the Irish press and mentioned both Def Leppard and Joe Elliott.
Ricky was interviewed by Hot Press and asked to share any memories of meeting David Bowie.
He recalled the story, which has also been told many times by Joe, of how he and Joe met at a David Bowie show in Dublin in the mid 90s.
Also an amusing story about a 2003 show which Joe missed involving his favourite song of all time.
Ricky released his Hearts On Trees album on 26th February which was co-produced by Joe with Ronan McHugh.
Joe paid tribute to David himself earlier this year including this online post the day after his death. See more of his tributes linked below from various interviews.
Ricky went on to support Def Leppard in Dublin in 1999 with his band The Almighty and Joe and Ronan also produced his first two solo albums.
He was Def Leppard's main support act for over 100 shows on the 2002/2003 X/Ten world tour in support of his first solo album 'Tattoos And Alibis'.

"Then in 2003, Bowie was playing The Point on the Reality tour, which was subsequently released on DVD. Joe was still on tour, and he's a massive Bowie fan. In fairness, I think Joe would rather have been at the Bowie gig than on tour! Anyway, Bowie came on and started with 'All The Young Dudes', which he hadn't played since God knows when. I phoned up Joe and went, "Listen to this!" I think Def Leppard were about to go on somewhere, but Joe delayed the start of the gig. Afterwards he was going, "You bastard!".
