Def Leppard played a Pyromania tour show in Dortmund, West Germany on this day in 1983 and video footage is available.
The show took place at the Westfallenhallen.
The second night at this venue for a two day Rock Pop Festival which was recorded and broadcast on German radio and television.
The first time the band had ever played in this city.
A charity football match was played on the nearby Dortmund football ground against Iron Maiden.
The event was headlined by Scorpions with Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Krokus, MSG and Quiet Riot also on the bill.
Six songs from the band's set were used in the broadcast including 'Rock! Rock!', 'Billy's Got A Gun', 'Foolin'' , 'Rock Of Ages', 'Let It Go' and 'Wasted'.
The only known professionally shot footage of 'Billy's Got A Gun'.
It was also the final European show played before Rick Allen's accident a year later and the last time the band used pyrotechnics until October 2006 on the YEAH! tour.
