Def Leppard @ Roberts Stadium By Evansville Press

Both Tesla, which played the standard 40 minutes, and Def Leppard gave good natured, high energy performances for what was a pretty sparse crowd in the stadium.

While most performers give an occasional nod to the people in the back and on the sides, both groups performed on a stage set up for 'theater in the round'.

For once, there wasn't a bad seat in the house.

It's easy to become jaded after attending a number of heavy metal rock concerts.

A the high decibel level required, lyrics are impossible to decipher and every group's guitar riffs begin to sound alike.

This concert was no different in those respects.

The laser light shows also get old after a while - although Def Leppard's highlighted by a rapid spinning triangle of green light, was the most exciting I've seen.
