Ozzy Osbourne/Def Leppard @ Municipal Auditorium By Bangor News

Def Leppard, a young British group that ascribes to the same AC/DC-inspired theory of new metal as Iron Maiden, doesn't break much new turf.

Yet, they're fast, unpretentious and basically they just let it rip all night.

Their second LP, 'High 'n' Dry', shows this far better then their debut.

Def Leppard avoids the cliches (the posing, strutting, ego-stroking).

And bullies the listener along with hard-charging guitar work that makes no stab at poignancy, just blistering hot lava energy.
