Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. I have a mere 60 minutes to turn you on. And we've got some great stuff to be turned on by tonight. So maestro cue the feedback."

Be Bop Deluxe

"I'm sure I've mentioned it many times in the past but I first discovered that band in February of 1976 when they played the Sheffield City Hall. The same night that I and my bffs discovered the Doctors Of Madness who were the opening act. But there were the headliners Be Bop Deluxe. They were promoting the album Sunburst Finish. The opening track we just heard Fair Exchange."

Ian Hunter

"Now how about this for a piano intro by one Mr. Tommy Mandel. Take it away boy."

"And before that Ian Hunter from his album All Of The Good Ones Are Taken in 1983. It's a bonus track actually. Wasn't on the original release. It was actually recorded about 1982, '81 maybe. It also features on the very comprehensive 32 CD box set I think it is of Stranded In Reality. Featuring a fantastic piano intro by Tommy Mandel who played in Ian's band through the Schizophrenic period and also went on to play with Bryan Adams. The song Traitor."

The Rolling Stones

"Upping their game somewhat possibly. Encouraged a little bit by the Punk movement. Specifically to up their tempos. That is The Rolling Stones from 1978. The album is Some Girls. The song When The Whip Comes Down."

Alice Cooper

"Right then time to take in some Detroit stories with Alice Cooper."

"And before that Alice Cooper from his latest album Detroit Stories with a great cover of an old classic Lou Reed track Rock And Roll."

Cheap Trick

"I've been singing the praises of their latest album recently. But there's some classic Cheap Trick from the album Dream Police. The song is I Know What I Want.

"And coming up some classic Lou Reed ."

Lou Reed

"And before that featuring one of the greatest intros to a song ever committed to tape. And featuring some amazing guitar work by that very irrepressible duo Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter. It is Lou Reed from the 1974 live album Rock And Roll Animal with Intro/Sweet Jane."

Boston

"Well it has to be said that band what a sound. Absolutely brilliant. What a band. It is Boston. It is the title track of their second album Don't Look Back."

Dixon House Band

"Now here's a nice couple of meaty slices of prog rock. Starting off with the band who prove that not everything that came out of Seattle was grunge. This is the Dixon House Band."

"And before that the Dixon House Band. Yes they were from Seattle. From an album called Fighting Alone. The song, great bit of work, Sooner Or Later."

Rush

"Marvellous stuff there from who else but Rush. It is the album Permanent Waves. The song Entre Nous."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. Been a real pleasure as always. I#m sorry if I sound like I'm giggling. It's because having played two slices of as I said Prog Rock. We're gonna go out on a completely different texture of music."

"This is from an album called Spurts. What a great way to finish. I'll see you next week. This is the Buzzcocks and Ever Fallen In Love. See ya."
