Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the magnificent Planet Rock. Please forgive me this week I am . That means I;m a little hoarse. But we are not going to let that get in the way of some fantastic tunes. The show this week is a little bit different. The first half is all covers. And the second half some great original tunes. So let's get started shall we. Here he is getting his rocks off. This is Rod the Mod."

Rod Stewart

"Yes it's every singer's and every presenter's nightmare. You wake up in the morning and your voice has gone walkabout. Welcome to Winter folks. That is Rod Stewart from an album that came out in 1998. The album is When We Were The New Boys. With his version of that Primal Scream classic Rocks."

David Bowie

"Now here with his take on a classic Yardbirds tune is David Bowie."

"And before that a song that Deep Purple also cover on the same album. But it's David Bowie's version from the 1973 Pin Ups album with Shapes Of Things."

Deep Purple

"Well I have to say never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect Deep Purple to do a covers album but why not?. You've got songs that inspired you and sometimes you just wanna share them back with your fans. And there from an album called Turning To Crime is Deep Purple with their version of the old Fleetwood Mac classic Oh Well."

Def Leppard

"Well as we just heard I did open up the show indeed tonight with Rod Stewart. Here's the other Rod Stewart. His name is Phil Collen. This is Def Leppard."

"And before that from the 2006 album YEAH! sung by Mr. Phil Collen who after he performed that fantastic vocal sounded a little bit like I do now. It is Def Leppard with our version of The Faces tune Stay With Me."

Down 'n' Outz

"From the 2019 album This Is How We Roll that is yours truly with the Down 'n' Outz. And our version of The Tubes's classic White Punks On Dope."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up we're heading off to a very magical place with Rush."

Rush

"Before that we heard Rush from the 40th anniversary version of that 1977 classic album Farwell To Kings we heard Xanadu."

Jethro Tull

"Now if you've been tuning into to my show over the last few weeks you'll know that I'm all over this brand new Jethro Tull album/ It's a great bit of work. It is called The Zealot Gene. The song we just heard from the album Jacob's Tales."

Grand Prix

"Now quite often when we class a song an epic we often think of it as something that's got to be 7, 8. 9, 10 even 15 minutes long. A song does't have to be long to be epic. I consider this next song epic. And it comes in at a miserly three minutes and forthy five seconds. This is Grand Prix."

"And before that we heard Grand Prix. Epic indeed and less than four minutes. The song Keep On Believing."

KISS

"Ah it takes me right back to my teenage years when I was walking through the centre of Sheffield and seeing a life sized poster of KISS in the window of Bradley's Records and thinkinh well if it sounds like it looks, that's a record for me. And it still is a great album as far as I'm concerned. That in actual fact is the ressurected version. The 2012 remixed version of Destroyer by KISS. The song we heard Flaming Youth."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time. Where hopefully I'll sound a little less like Burnley manager Sean Dyche."

"So until then I shall leave you with this. This is Status Quo from that great album that i Piledriver. This is Paper Plane. Until next week see ya!."
