Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the magnificent Planet Rock. Always a pleasure to be with you. In fact it's an honour to be doing this for the next 60 minutes. So don't touch that dial. Let this lot do it instead. This is The Kinks."

The Kinks

"Rocking it up like they never did before from 1981. The album is Give The People What They Want. That is The Kinks with Around The Dial."

David Bowie

"Right here from an album that inspired Def Leppard to do the same thing is David Bowie."

"And before that David Bowie with a cover of a Pretty Things song from his 1973 cover album Pin Ups. The album that inspired Def Leppard to do exactly the same thing with the YEAH! album in 2006. The song we heard Rosalyn."

The Pretty Things

"Always loved that song, always will love that song. It's got such a fantastic 60s feel. Then again it would wouldn't it because it was released in 1968. It is The Pretty Things. These days you can find it as a bonus track on that classic album S.F. Sorrow. It was a standalone single back in the day. S.F. Sorrow reputedly the first ever concept album by a rock band. Even preceding The Who. The song Walking Through My Dreams."

Montrose

"And talking of covers here's a song written by ex-Animals keyboard played Alan Pryce for the 1973 movie O Lucky Man. This version is by Montrose."

"And before that Montrose from their 1975 album Warner Brothers Presents. With their version of the Alan Pryce song O Lucky Man."

Wishbone Ash

"I just recently got reintroduced to that album from having not heard it for decades. Absolutely decades. And I so remember this song. I saw them live at the Sheffield City Hall on this tour. I t was the first time I'd seen Wishbone Ash with Laurie Wisefield who'd joined a couple of years earlier. Who was born on exactly the same street as Phil Collen in Walthamstow in East London. There from the album New England is Wishbone Ash. With a fantastic instrumental called Outward Bound.

"You're listening to The Joe Elliott Show on the mighty Planet Rock. Coming up we're going sailing with Robert Plant."

Robert Plant

"And before that we heard Robert Plant from I believe it was rom 1988 wasn't it. The album is Now And Zen. The song we heard Ship Of Fools."

The Rolling Stones

"Now I'll be honest I've never done the research but I wouldn't be surprised at all if The Rolling Stones compilations like their Greatest Hits and Best Of's etc. Actually outweighs their official album releases. There seems to be absolutely dozens of greatest hits or best of collections. And from one of their better ones in my opinion. And I may be saying that because it was the first one I ever owned. Big Hits, High Tide And Green Grass, That is The Rolling Stones and Play With Fire."

Bruce Springsteen

"Right then here's a letter to you from The Boss."

"And before that we heard Bruce Springsteen from the album Letter To You. Great bit of work called Ghosts."

Queen

"The song that opened the door that they would eventually kick off its hinges. That is Queen from the album Queen II with Seven Seas Of Rhye. God haven't heard that for a long time."

Ace Frehley

"Right let's glam it up for a little while shall we. Let's go back to 1978 when this gentleman released his first solo album on the same day as his three compatriots from his band KISS released theirs. This is Ace Frehley."

"And before that Ace Frehley from as I said his first ever solo album back in 1978. When every members of KISS released one on the same day. With his version of the old Hello hit New York Groove.

Cheap Trick

"Absolutely one of my favourite songs that that band have ever recorded. From their album Bang Zoom Crazy Hello! released in 2016. That is the mighty Cheap Trick with Blood Red Lips."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. As always it has been a great pleasure. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time."

"So until then we're gonna stay glam. And we're gonna go back to the era where it really started. 1973 to be precise. This is Roy Wood's Wizzard with See My Baby Jive."

"Until next week see ya!."
