Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Good to be with you again as always. We've got 60 minutes. That's all we've got 60 minutes. So it's time for some anarchy and some unity. This is brand new VEGA."

VEGA

"Now the album's not out till September the 17th but I can tell you it's a really good album because Nick Workman already sent me a copy. it's really really good. It is Anarchy And Unity. The song we just heard Sooner Or Later."

Von Hertzen Brothers

"OK now time to experience a little bit of the Von Hertzen Brothers "

"And before that from 2001 their debut album. It's the title track Experience. The band the Von Herzten Brothers."

The Warning

"About three years ago that trio of ladies opened for Def Leppard in Mexico for a couple of gigs. And what fine musicians and great songwriters and singers and players they are. Fantastic stuff. They are sisters and I believe at the time they were 17, 18 and 19 years old. So they're only two and three years older than that now. Really good. They are called The Warning. It's a brand new song called Choke."

Jim Wilson

"Now here's a gentleman I first met in 2008 when he was moonlighting as a guitar player for Sparks. When they did 21 shows in 21 nights celebrating their entire career. He also plays with the legendary producer Daniel Lanois. But he's also got his own solo career and a couple of great bands on the go. This boy never stops working. His name is Jim Wilson."

"And before that we heard the wonderfully talented Mr. Jim Wilson. From an album called First Love. The song Cry Now Pay Later."

Uriah Heep

"Sad to see the grim reaper has once again been harvesting our talent this week in Mr. John Lawton who was once the singer in Uriah Heep from I think '76 to '79. I saw him live at the City Hall in Sheffield on the Firefly tour and he had great pipes. Sadly I don't have any of the recorded works of Uriah Heep featuring John Lawton. So I've picked this track because I just recently saw him performing it live on YouTube and he was magnificent. He was a great singer but there is the original version from Uriah Heep of the song Wizard from their album Demons And Wizards.

"You're listening to The Joe Elliott Show on the mighty Planet Rock. Coming up Steve Winwood."

Steve Winwood

"And before that we heard Steve Winwood from an album that Def Leppard played to death on our first American tour in 1980. That album is Arc Of A Diver. The song When You See A Chance."

World Party

"Featuring the very talented Mr. Karl Wallinger that is World Party who also had in their ranks for a while Guy Chambers who co-wrote all those massive hits for Robbie Williams a few years later. There from the album Private Revolution we just heard Ship Of Fools."

Aerosmith

"Right time to get in the exterminators. This is Aerosmith."

"And before that we heard Aerosmith. A bit of a rodent problem from their album Rocks with Rats In The Cellar."

Pat Travers

"I was first introduced to that gentleman's music when he was special guest at the Sensational Alex Harvey Band for two consecutive shows at the Sheffield City Hall back in 1976. The first night you watch him and you think this guy's good. The second night you go this guy's really good. So you go out and you buy the debut album. And then you buy the second, third and the fourth and so on and so on. And then ;o and behold 20th May 1980. Def Leppard's first veer American concert at the Santa Monica Civic just outside of Los Angeles we opened for Pat Travers. What a wonderful artist he still is. From his second album there Makin' Magic. A song that Def Leppard actually used to play in the early days. The song is Rock And Roll Susie."

Lou Reed

"Ok time for a little transformation. This is Lou Reed."

"And before that from 1972. Produced by Mick Ronson and David Bowie. The album is Transformer. The song I'm So Free.

Judas Priest

"From a time in their career when they could have gone either way. They could have been this really cool pop rock band. Or they could have become which they did an insanely heavy metal band. That is Judas Priest it's a bonus track these days on Killing Machine. It used to be a standalone single I believe in 1978. It is Evening Star."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. Been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time so don't touch that dial."

"Until then all I can say is try if you are south and east of the borders. try and enjoy the football."

"Until then I'm going to leave you with this for your pleasure. This is Roxy Music and Do The Strand."

"Until next week see ya!."
