DEF LEPPARD's RICK SAVAGE Hints At Australia/NZ/Japan Dates For THE WORLD TOUR

Def Leppard bassist Rick Savage has hinted at new shows in Australia, New Zealand and Japan for The World Tour 2023.

The World Tour 2023 starts in Mexico City later this month following two intimate shows in Atlantic City, NJ.

Bassist extraordinaire Rick Savage has now mentioned new (as yet unannounced) tour dates for Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

These countries were last mentioned by Vivian during a BBC interview in November 2022 where he said it was special "to be able to go to places like Japan - and New Zealand, Australia.".

Sav has reposted the photo of himself standing back to back with Nikki Sixx at the September 2022 Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in Los Angeles.

As part of the caption he mentioned he was looking forward to seeing fans in the already announced territories of Mexico, South America, USA, UK and Europe.

Before adding in mentions of Australia, New Zealand and Japan which have not yet been announced but all three have been mentioned during interviews in the last few years.

Recent tours there have all taken place around September, October, November which seems likely again and would therefore probably be announced in the next couple of months.

All three countries were last played in October/November 2018 during the highly successful 'Hysteria & More' portion of the 2018 world tour.

120 More Shows

Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx said in September 2022 that there would be up to 120 more shows added for 2023 and also 2024.

These suggested an expansion of the tour ahead of The World Tour announcement soon after.

2023-2024 Tour Schedule

The schedule for 2023 and 2024 was partly revealed by Motley Crue singer Vince Neil in a September 2022 interview when he said the tour would resume in Spring 2023, playing Europe/UK in the summer and a return to North America in 2024.

The first confirmation that the tour would, as expected, stretch into a third year which had already been mentioned by Joe and Phil.

Phil also referenced Australia and Japan in an April 2022 interview when he said - "There's been real interest in Europe. Australia, Japan. All over the place. South America.".
