Def Leppard another show on The World Tour 2023 last night in Budapest, Hungary with 17 songs performed.
The show took place at the 20,000 capacity MVM Dome.
The first show in this city since October 1996 on the Slang tour.
A return the days of 2019 when Def Leppard were still an "arena band".
Def Leppard Live In Budadpest
Yes, Queen played their legendary show in Budapest at the Népstadion on 27 July 1986 in front of over 80,000 fans on The Magic Tour.
The first stadium show by a rock band behind the old "Iron Curtain" apparently (and captured on the video 'Queen Live In Budapest').
The stadium was demolished in 2017 and replaced by a new stadium called the Puskás Aréna which opened in November 2019.
This show was played just 4.5 miles to the South of that historic site.
A British rock band back in Budadpest to rock thousands of people.
The Arena Tour
"Step Inside"...back to an arena setting for this show.
The first proper full arena show since 31st July 2019 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, AB, Canada.
The 20,000 capacity venue holds about 12,500 or more for concerts and was packed full.
The usual screens behind Rick were in use but the two huge side screens were replaced with projector screens for this smaller show.
But as can be seen from all the photos and videos it was basically the full stadium set up inside an arena.
And it sounded just as good as it has throughout 2023 so far.
Back in Hungary
10 years after Queen's famous show Def Leppard made their only previous visit to Budapest on 14th October 1996.
At the Budapest Sportcsarnok (Sports Hall) during the Slang European tour with Terrorvision in support.
After a long wait of 27 years they returned last night.
Hopefully those fans won't have to wait another 27 years to see them again in their own country.
17 Song Setlist
No changes to the familiar 17 song setlist.
But to most people here this was probably their second or very first Def Leppard show so almost all of the songs were new to them LIVE.
And many of the songs were played here for the every first time including those from the, now one year old, 'Diamond Star Halos' album.
Unlike the previous two shows the schedule was published by the venue beforehand including an opening band called Abaházi.RT.
Def Leppard took to the stage at their scheduled time of 7:15pm and played to 8:45pm.
And their were actual LIVE videos showing up online for those of us not there.
The next Def Leppard show takes place on 31st May in Krakow, Poland - another indoor show on the mini "Arena Tour".
