Def Leppard 1984

Def Leppard played a show in Tokyo, Japan on 24th January 1984 and a gallery of rare media photos are available.

The show took place at Shibuya Kokaido (Shibuya Public Hall).

The first of two shows in the city.

Japanese Debut

This was the very first show by Def Leppard in Japan during the final leg of the Pyromania world tour.

They would also return on the 26th January for another show at the Nakano Sun Plaza venue after playing on the 25th in Osaka.

Rare Media Photos

A rare gallery of media photos has now been posted online featuring 10 shots.

8 are from the concert plus a backstage pic of Joe and one of the band playing in snow.

A few of these shots have been seen online via various Japanese rock magazines over the years.

Joe's Outfit

Joe is seen wearing the red/pink 'Hamer' T-Shirt and braces he would go on to wear during the 'Me And My Wine' video filmed in Dublin just a few weeks later.

He also wore this outfit during the band's second Japanese TV appearance filmed in Tokyo at the same time as these two shows.

One of the photos was taken during the encore of 'Travellin' Band' with Phil playing Sav's Hamer bass.
