DEF LEPPARD/JOE ELLIOTT Schedule First Live Show Of 2022 For A BOWIE CELEBRATION Event

Def Leppard 2020. A Bowie Celebration

Def Leppard and Joe Elliott have been announced today for the A Bowie Celebration 2022 online concert for January 2022.

The event titled Mike Garson's 'A Bowie Celebration 2022' will take place online from 6pm PT on 8th January 2022.

Joe is scheduled to appear as a solo artist alongside a full band appearance by Def Leppard.

This will be the band's first appearance together as a full band since November 2019 when they ended their 2019 touring with a one-off show in Sacramento, CA.

This event coincides with what would have been David Bowie's 75th birthday.

Joe appeared at the first A Bowie Celebration concert online on 8th January 2020.

He sang 'Win' and 'Ziggy Stardust' at the event with Mike Garson and the backing band appearing virtually from Dublin.

David passed away on 10th January 2016 after battling cancer.

Joe had also appeared at the London Celebrating David Bowie show in January 2017 and two more concerts in Los Angeles later the same month.

Much of the same line up is appearing again this year with other gusts including Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Living Colour, Gary Oldman, Rob Thomas and many others.

Tickets can be purchased for the online event now which will be streamed online for 24 hours afterwards.

Other band members will include Earl Slick, Charlie Sexton, Alan Childs, Steve Elson, Mark Guiliana, Omar Hakim, Stan Harrison, Tim Lefebvre, Gerry Leonard and Carmine Rojas.

A portion of the ticket sales will go to the Save the Children organization, a charity important to Bowie and the beneficiary of funds raised from his 50th Birthday Concert held in 1997 at Madison Square Garden.

Mike Garson says, “It’s an honor to be able to continue to share David Bowie’s music with the world. I’m excited for everyone to be able to experience this very special show we’ve got in store in celebration of what would have been David’s 75th birthday with the bandmates he recorded and performed with, plus a great group of guest artists who he was such an influence to.”
