Def Leppard played another show on The World Tour 2023 last night in Sydney, Australia with 17 songs performed.

The show took place at the new 23,500 capacity GIANTS Stadium.

The first show in this city since November 2018.

The second show of the three date Australian tour leg to round off The World Tour in 2023.

Saturday Night High 'n' Dry.

Saturday In Sydney

A weekend stadium show in Sydney in the sunshine.

Not at the 52,000 capacity Accor Stadium, once used for the Summer 2000 Olympics as Stadium Australia, but the GIANTS STadium nearby.

Def Leppard opening the show this time after the virtual DJ.

And opening in the bright sunshine.

The venue filled up nicely as they kicked things off with 'Take What You Want'.

Another flashback to the stadium tour 2022 with the screens bathed in the early evening sun.

The video footage and local fan feedback online suggests it was another top performance by the band.

And it definitely looked and sounded good for those of us watching and listening from the other side of the world.

First Sydney Stadium Show

Another first with the band playing a stadium show for the first time ever in Sydney.

The band having played outdoors in nearby Somersby in January 1984 at the Narara Festival for their debut Australian show.

Followed up by their first time here.

The crowd of over 20,000 somewhat larger than the 2,000 capacity Selina's club.

Returning to this city exactly five years after playing Hysteria in full.

17 Song Setlist

The same 17 song setlist played once more.

All three 'Diamond Star Halos' songs played in Sydney for the first time.

Sydney History

The first visit to Sydney took place in February 1984 at Selina's at The Coogee Bay Hotel.

The second visit in July 1992 saw them perform In The Round at the Entertainment Centre over two nights on the Adrenalize tour.

After an acoustic show in November 1995 for the Vault promo tour they were back with a full show in 2008 on the Sparkle Lounge tour at the newer Acer Arena which stands on the same complex as the GIANTS Stadium and was formerly called the Sydney SuperDome.

The Entertainment Centre was played for a third time in October 2011 on the Mirrorball tour with Heart.

The 2015 show was played at the Entertainment Centre under its new name of Qantas Credit Union Arena and it would be their fourth and last performance there before its closure.

They played the last show here on 10th November 2018 at the ICC Sydney Theatre on the Hysteria & More tour.

Last night's show was the 9th overall performance in Sydney.

The next Def Leppard show takes place in Melbourne, Australia on 14th November. The last show of 2023.
