Def Leppard played another show on The World Tour 2023 last night in Rivas-Vaciamadrid/Madrid, Spain with 17 songs performed.
The show took place at the 15,000 capacity Auditorio Miguel RΓos.
The first show in this city since October 1996.
A return to Spain.
Outdoor Amphitheatre
After a quick hop over the border from Portugal the band were back in Spain.
In Rivas-Vaciamadrid / Madrid - 9 miles to the South East of the centre of Madrid.
To play an American style amphitheatre venue which was opened in 2009 and named after Spanish singer Miguel Rios.
And another show in front of about 15,000 fans.
A venue similar to the three played in 1981 when they made their debut here with three outdoor shows supporting Rainbow.
Late Finish
A local band named Los Sex opened the show at 7:30pm followed by Motley Crue at 9pm.
Another late show for Def Leppard with a start time of 11pm.
So another late finish on Sunday morning of 12:30am.
But now a couple of days off before the end of the mainland European shows and a return to the UK.
17 Song Setlist
The same 17 song setlist played once more.
All three 'Diamond Star Halos' songs played in Spain for the first time.
Madrid History
The band first played Madrid in 1981 with Rainbow at the Estadio Roman Valero. Their biggest audience played to here of 20,000.
They returned in October 1983 on the Pyromania tour.
In March 1988 they played a second show at the PabellΓ³n Real Madrid.
In May 1992 they kicked off the Adrenalize club tour at Sala Canciller.
Another smaller show took place in 1996 on the Slang tour at Sala La Riviera.
It would be 17 years before they returned with their only arena show here in 2013 at Palacio Vistalegre Arena where they Hysteria album was played in full for the second of two times in Spain.
Last night's show was the 7th performance in Madrid.
The next Def Leppard show takes place in Thun, Switzerland on 27th June.
