DEF LEPPARD's Collection Volume Three Box Set Delayed By Coronavirus

Def Leppard 2018. By dltourhistory

Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott has said the band's Collection Volume 3 box set has been delayed by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Joe mentioned the box set on his weekly Joe Elliott Show on Planet Rock in the last few minutes.

He said the box set will now not be released until after the pandemic is over.

Given that will not happen soon it's unlikely to come out until at least 2021 (or perhaps 2221!...).

The second volume was released in June 2019.

This third edition will cover the rest of the band's studio albums released from 2002 up to the 2015 self-titled album.

The 'X' (or Ten...), 'YEAH!', 'Songs From The Sparkle Lounge' and 'Def Leppard' albums should all be included.

The other albums released in this period were either compilations of live albums.

The 'YEAH!' album sessions will provide most of the extras including the North American bonus tracks.

The various releases saw 10 extra tracks released, none of which are available currently to buy or stream.

Joe mentioned 'American Girl' would be included when playing it on the show.

One track from these sessions, the Single/Radio edit of 'Rock On' was eventually released in 2018 on 'The Story So Far' compilation.

This box set should see the Slade cover 'How Does It Feel' released physically for the first time. It was previously only released on iTunes USA and unlike all the other songs was not released on CD.

This released will also see the album come out on vinyl - some four years after Joe first announced it would be out on this format.

25th July 2020 - The Joe Elliott Show Quotes

Def Leppard/Collection Volume Three

"And before that it comes under the name of Def Leppard but in actual fact it's just myself and Vivian Campbell tarting up an old demo of his."

"When Def Leppard did the YEAH! album we were asked to produce a bunch of extra tracks for a kind of a bonus CD in different areas of the world. And we didn't really have that much music left. So we were kind of scrambling around to record some acoustic stuff."

"And then Vivian said well I've got this backing track for American Girl and I said sent it to me, send it to me. And that's what you ended up with American Girl."

"It will be featured on the third box set which should be coming out post-COVID let's say. Relatively soon. I don't know when. So Def Leppard from the YEAH! sessions there."
