Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen was interviewed recently by local TV news in Miami and video footage is available.

Rick spoke to WPLG Local 10 news in Miami, FL to promote his artwork The Stadium Tour 2020.

Artwork Inspiration

"I think everything as you suggest is from the perspective of, you know, a life experience. From growing up in England. To finally coming to America for the first time in 1980. And then, you know, my experience of travelling the world doing what I do with Def Leppard. It just gave me the opportunity to document what I'd seen. What I'd experienced. The things I care about."

"And I think it's wonderful to be able to not only express that with music, but also to express that in a different way with an artistic sort of endeavour."

"Plus my daughter's a great influence as well. She's a, she paints with no rules. And just very much from the heart. And I recognise that in her. From, you know, painting as a kid. Really I discovered art first. And then, you know, kind of got into music. And then when my youngest daughter came along it sort of pulled me back into wanting to paint again."

The Stadium Tour 2020

"I'm trying not to think about it 'cause you know it's a lot. It's easier for me to bite off smaller pieces and go OK what's in front of me. You know this is what I need to do. Instead of getting overwhelmed by just, you know, how many things I've gotta do between now and next year."

"But I'm excited. Quietly optimistic. Happy to be going out with Motley Crue and Poison and Joan Jett. They're all band that we've toured with in the past. So there's a camaraderie that comes with that."

"So I think that's what I'm looking forward to."
