PHIL COLLEN Updates On New DEF LEPPARD Music/Album Recording

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen was interviewed by Nashville TV last month and mentioned the next studio album.

Phil spoke to Eric Dahl for the Rock And Review show on Fox 17 TV in Nashville, TN ahead of the 25th August show at Bridgestone Arena.

Phil talked about current tour/career success, Def Leppard shoes, new Def Leppard music/next album, Tesla, new guitars, new guitar backline equipment and the G3 tour.

He again mentioned the band are recording new music on tour and also said Tesla's next studio which he produced will be out in January 2019.

Current Career Success/2018 Tour

"We have and you know we're having a bit of an Indian summer with our career and I think it's, you know, just persistence, all that stuff. Great management, great team, the whole tour, everything. All the stuff we did before with Mutt Lange. Just non stop. All that really counts and we're just grateful that we're getting an opportunity to do this."

"We've been doing - we played St. Louis Busch Stadium last night where the Cardinals play. And we've been doing a bunch of stadiums and the arenas have been packed and the response is amazing. So yeah it's an Indian Summer. It's kind of, careers doing this."

New Def Leppard Music/Recording On Tour

Working on a new album for 2019?

"Yes. Well 2019...we'll see. Yeah, yeah. We're constantly - we're actually recording a song right now. Obviously we done the Spotify Session and we done Personal Jesus. It's out it was a cover of a Depeche Mode song. That's great. So you can do it and I actually produced Tesla's new album that comes out in January on tour last year."

Where do you find the time to do that?

"Well after this there's a 45 minute...well actually something like that and you grab moments like that. In rooms like this. So you can do that and we've been doing that and it's kind of exciting as well."
