Def Leppard played a show on the Slang tour in Pittsburgh, PA on 9th July 1996 and video footage is available.

The show took place at the Star Lake Amphitheatre.

The same venue played by the band last night under its current name of First Niagara Pavilion.

During the show the band played a few rare Slang Album songs only ever played on the 1996/1997 world tour.

These included the ultra rare 'Where Does Love Go When It Dies' and the slightly more regular 'Deliver Me' which was played at almost every show on the tour.

Watch both of these via the links to YouTube. They are taken from an audience recording that was filmed from one of the two video screens either side of the stage.

This was the band's first visit since their first show at the same venue in September 1993 on the Adrenalize tour.

They were supported by Tripping Daisy.

This was the tenth show of the Slang US tour which had opened in Kalamazoo, MI on 26th June.

The Slang world tour began in Bangkok, Thailand on 28th May 1996 and continued through South East Asia and then Japan before heading to the USA.

Phil Collen - 1996 Interview Quotes

Leppard Unveil Radical New Live Show

"The new show is a reaction to what we've done before. The 'Slang' album is a very different album for us, and we've taken the same approach to touring. There's no audience participation stuff this time, no solos, just songs. We played 22 songs last night at our show in Chicago. It all sounds so fresh."
