DEF LEPPARD's 2012/2013 Re-Records Removed From Spotify/iTunes

Def Leppard's three re-recorded versions of classic songs have been removed from Spotify and iTunes.

The removals have come in the last few days with the songs no longer available for streaming on Spotify or to purchase on iTunes/Amazon.

In 2012 the band released newly re-recorded versions of 'Rock Of Ages' and 'Pour Some Sugar On Me' ahead of the 'Rock Of Ages' tour with Posion which was tied in to the Tom Cruise movie of the same name.

In early 2013 a new re-recorded version of 'Hysteria' was released to coincide with the VIVA! Hysteria residency in Las Vegas.

Currently PSSOM 2012 can still be purchased on iTunes but only when you buy the entire 'Air Guitar Anthems' album. The same is true on Amazon.

Update - Sav's son Tyler has posted an update about this on Twitter seemingly confirming the band's music will soon be added to Spotify. He has also again mentioned "this Friday" having posted "19th January #defleppard" in late December. It would appear a tour and digital announcement will be made on the same day.

The self-titled album, Mirrorball, Slang and VIVA! Hysteria albums can still be played on Spotify along with the Acoustic Medley 2012 and When Love & Hate Collide singles.

Rick Allen recently said the band's old label Universal records had agreed a digital rights deal with the band which they had accepted. The Hysteria lyric tease could well be related to a Spotify/iTunes announcement as well as the tour.

Joe mentioned in August 2017 that the band's digital catalogue might be online soon and they were "working on it".

It's not yet clear why these three versions have been removed. Both Down 'n' Outz and Delta Deep removed their catalogues from Spotify in late 2017 ahead of new releases.

Since then Down 'n' Out's two studio albums have been re-added with bonus tracks along with the new live album.

Delta Deep are expected to re-add their studio album when the 'East Coast Live' album is released later this month.

Manraze had their 'Surreal' album removed last year with only the 'Take On The World' single remaining. 'Turn It Up' can still be played via its inclusion on a compilation album.
