Riverdogs 2017
Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell's side band Riverdogs have revealed the title and release date of their new album.
The band revealed the news in a Facebook post on 17th March, St. Patrick's Day.
Titled 'California', it will be released around the world on Friday 7th July on Frontiers Records.
The record company have yet to put out a press release themselves but they did post the same news as the band a few days later.
Their first new music since the 8 song mini album 'World Gone Mad' in October 2011.
Vivian's last live shows with the band took place in August 2004 when four dates were played in Los Angeles and San Diego. He will return to one of those venues (Brick By Brick) in San Diego with Last In Line this July.
The original band, formed in 1989, featured Vivian alongside singer Rob Lamothe, Nick Brophy (bass) and drummer Marc Danzeisen.
It was revealed by Vivian in a December 2016 interview that Riverdogs will not be touring the album. At least not with Vivian, as he could not commit to shows with them along with Def Leppard and Last In Line and his health treatment schedule.
The first three songs on their last album - World Gone Mad, Big Steel Town, Best Day of My Life, were all debuted during the 2004 shows.
The album was mixed in January and Vivian says - "It's a good, power intensive record. It really is. There's so much guitar on the record".
