Joe Elliott To Attend Celebrating David Bowie Concert In London

Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott will attend tomorrow night's Celebrating David Bowie concert in London, England.

Joe mentioned his attendance at the end of tonight's Joe Elliott show on Planet Rock.

'Celebrating David Bowie w/ Gary Oldman and Friends' takes place 8th January at the O2 Academy Brixton in London, England.

Part of a series of concerts around the world celebrating David Bowie's life and music.

This show takes place on what would have been his 70th birthday.

Actor and friend Gary Oldman is hosting the event.

The band playing includes members of David's last touring band. Some of whom have links to Joe including Mike Garson, Earl Slick and Mark Plati (who took the photo of Joe and David shown below in October 1999).

The New York concert on 10th January at Terminal 5, the first anniversary of David's death, features many of the same musicians. Joe's friend Emm Gryner, and ex-Bowie backing vocalist, is listed among the performers.

Joe did not mention performing but the show news contains this line - "...with many other special guests to be announced.".
