Joe Elliott On Def Leppard's History/Friendship With U2 And Bono

Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott was interviewed by the Irish press in November 2015 and talked about the band's history with U2.

Joe was interview last year and mentioned the band's relationship with the legendary Irish band.

He recalled their first meeting in early 1984 when Def Leppard relocated to Dublin to begin work on the 'Hysteria' album.

And once again praises their latest album 'Songs Of Innocence' which he defended many times against the criticism of its free-on-iTunes release strategy.

Def Leppard attended a U2 show in Boston, MA on 10th July 2015 during their Innocence + Experience tour. Bono included a snippet of 'PSSOM' at the end of the second song 'The Electric Co.'.

Joe went on to attend the 27th/28th November 2015 U2 shows in Dublin, Ireland which came at the end of their tour before they headed back to Paris to make up the two shows postponed due to the terrorist attacks.

"This is probably going to blow some people’s minds, but my favourite U2 album is Songs Of Innocence. It’s a fantastic return to form. It reminds me of October or Boy, especially on songs like ‘Raised By Wolves’, which could be from 1981."
