Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott was recently interviewed by Absolute Radio during a weekly English football show.
Joe appeared briefly on the Rock 'n' Roll Football show hosted by Russ Williams.
This audio clip was posted online yesterday by the station and either dates from last weeks show or December. It's likely it was at least recorded back in December - he references the team being 12th in League One (they are now 8th - and Rick Savage is at home laughing...).
Joe talks about the teams current plight (in the third tier of English football) and his all time Sheffield United favourite player Tony Currie.
Tony played 313 games for the club between 1968 and 1976.
Tonight Joe will be watching his team take on Manchester United in the FA Cup (kick off 5:30pm UK time).
Listen to the short 2:28 minute minute clip below.
Rock 'n' Roll Football - Joe Elliott Interview Quote
"My all time favourite Sheffield United player?. No brainer. Tony Currie. Absolute fantastic talent. A lot of people say wasted but I don't believe so."
