The Joe Elliott Show - Quotes

Show Intro

"So how come I'm able to do a radio show when Def Leppard have just had to postpone some shows because of my voice?. Let me explain. Or should I give you a analogy. Imagine Jamie Vardy with a bruised foot. Yes, he can still go to the supermarket. He can still take his dog for a walk. Can he play on a Saturday afternoon?. Not for about three of four weeks maybe. And that's exactly where I am folks right now. Talking voice is fine. Singing voice needs a bit of a rest. So on that note. Just to let you all know it's all gonna be great."

"Welcome everyone to The Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. We have sixty minutes of great rock music. All types tonight. Starting off with something that I might actually take in the next couple of weeks."

Sex Pistols/The Ramones

"Not something we do at the top of the show most weeks. Play two in a row but I just had to because of the connection there. That was The Ramones from The Ramones Mania Collection with Rockaway Beach. Ahhh beach. And before that we heard the Sex Pistols with the wonderful Holidays In The Sun."

David Bowie

"Since he passed away I've been listening to quite a lot of David Bowie as you can imagine. You know if you're an avid listener that I am a huge fan. But I've been listening to a lot of his more latter day work and what I mean is the last 20 years or so. The 90s onwards. And that song really has caught my imagination once again. From the album O1, Outside, I think is it's proper title but most of us just refer to it as Outside. That is David Bowie with Heart's Filthy Lesson."

Show Outro

"Alongside Creedence Clearwater Revival they are absolutely my favourite ever American rock band. They are Cheap Trick from the album One On One we just heard If You Want My Love. And before that from an album called The Best Glam Album In The World Ever. Highly recommended if you've got friends coming round on a Friday night, we heard Wizzard featuring the wonderful talents of Mr. Roy Wood. Previously of The Move and E.L.O. with a fantastic song called See My Baby Jive."

"And that my friends is about it for this week, been a pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at the same time. Until then let's keep the Glam thing going shall we. Albeit this is slightly more high brow. From the album For Your Pleasure this is Roxy Music. And if you're ever in doubt as to what to do, I suggest this. Do The Strand. Till next week, see ya!."
