Def Leppard played a 2016 Summer Tour show last night in Kansas City, MO with 17 songs performed.

The show took place at the 19,200+ capacity Sprint Center.

The band's first time in Kansas City since 11th August 2015 on the 2015 world tour.

The ninth show the band have played in Kansas City and fourth time at this venue.

The first visit here took place in June 1980 at the Kemper Memorial Arena as support to Ted Nugent on their first American tour.

They returned in April 1983 on the Pyromania tour as support to Billy Squier.

An In The Round show at the same venue was played in December 1987 on the Hysteria tour. Their first headline show.

Another In The Round show was played at this arena in December 1992 on the Adrenalize tour.

They did not return again until July 2009 for the first show at Sprint Center on the Sparkle Lounge summer tour.

Two more visits took place in August 2011 (exactly five years ago on the 27th) and June 2012.

Last year's show took place at the spectacular outdoor Starlight Theatre venue. Their only outdoor show in this city.

They have also played in nearby Kansas City, KS (or Bonner Springs) six times in 2007, 2006, 2005, 1996,1993 and 1988. All outdoor amphitheatre shows.

Phil and his Delta Deep bandmate Debbi Blackwell-Cook joined Tesla for the live premiere of their new single 'Save That Goodness' which they co-wrote. They will be playing the song together at the next three shows in St. Louis, MO, Cleveland, OH and Darien Center, NY.

The song was released on the same day as part of the 'Mechanical Resonance LIVE!' album - see photo below.

Today marks 29 years since Tesla first played with Def Leppard at the opening show of the 1987/1988 Hysteria world tour in Dublin, Ireland. Members of the band also made cameo appearances in the UK video for 'PSSOM', filmed a few days before.

Sav picked up a black bra after his pre-Rock On introduction and pretended to put it on his head briefly before giving it to someone in the crowd. No changes were made to the now familiar 17 song setlist.

Frank Hannon (Tesla) - Save That Goodness Intro

"Alright Kansas City we got something very special for you tonight. We have a brand new album out 'Mechanical Resonance LIVE!'. We got a brand new single that we co wrote with our good friend Mr. Phil Collen from Def Leppard. The video's out for it today. It just came out so please go to our website and check it out. Right now we'd like to being up Phil Collen and Debbi Blackwell-Cook from Delta Deep and Def Leppard. Their gonna jam with us right now on a brand new song for the first time ever here in Kansas City."

Joe Elliott - Pre-Rock On Speech

"Thank you. Wow. How we doing on the top over here?. And you guys right at the back. How about you guys?. So let's look at the calendar. We first came to the USA 36 years ago We did some shows with Judas Priest and Pat Travers. We did a lot of shows with Ted Nugent and the Scorpions. But 36 years ago when we first started this adventure and look where we are."

"Of course we can go back even further than that. Go back in your minds, if you can, to the summer of 1977. Who was alive in the summer of 1977?. Who wasn't alive in the summer of '77?. Now that's what we call a good mix because when we first started out. We had no idea that we were gonna be doing it for this long. I don't think any band ever did. But it's great to see new generations coming through to keep this thing we call rock and roll alive and well with a strong heartbeat. And you guys are giving it that. We thank you on behalf of every band on the planet. ."

"In that summer of 1977, where we come from in Great Britain, there was a lot of great things happening. There was the New Wave stuff like Blondie and The Ramones and The Clash and the Sex Pistols really kicking down a lot of doors. But there was also a lot of great band starting to establish themselves like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Thin Lizzy and U.F.O. and Queen and AC/DC. And they were very inspiring to me and this young 16 years old kid. That I met for the very first time that particular summer."

"He came round to my Mum and Dad's house to look at my very...large...record collection. You've got a filthy mind. You have. And we realised that we had a lot in common and we said something along the words of wouldn't it be great if we put a band together just to see what happens. Well, 39 years later!. I can honestly say that that young 16 years old kid is still today my best mate. Ladies and Gentleman Mr. Rick Savage."

Joe Elliott - Pre-Rock Of Ages Speech

"Thank you. Thank you very much. And this is why we keep coming back here!. And we have been coming as I said earlier this evening. We have been coming for a long time. I hope we can do this again pretty soon. Because this is an amazing thing when you've been around as long as we have. To be able to do this kind of thing. To start the weekend off the perfect way. It's good when it's good and as you know if you've followed this band for a long time. We have been through what everybody loves to call ups and downs. But when you're down all you can do is come back up again. And with the support and love of an audience like this. It's not that difficult to come back up. So we thank you and we love you for it. And the spirit you need to do that kind of thing. Nobody on this stage epitomises that more than this boy at the back. Stand up Rick Allen!."
