Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell took part in a jam session with his original DIO band mates Vinny Appice, Claude Schnell and Jimmy Bain yesterday.
Vivian had mentioned that he had contacted the band last week in hopes of them playing together again.
He wrote the following yesterday on facebook before and after the session took place with hints of something more to follow.
Update 2nd March - Vivian was asked who was singing and confirmed the line up for the jam session.

"Yes; Jimmy, Vinny and Claude Schnell on keys. A chap called Andy Freeman (friend of Vinny's) stopped by for about a half hour and sang a few of the songs. He was incredible!"

"Well, that was a hoot playing the old songs with the Dio guys again. I even broke out the original black Les Paul that I recorded them on (needs a re-fret really bad!). All in all it sounded great and now we're thinking of taking it a stage further. Stay tuned!"

"Dio day! Having to go with .11 gauge strings on the Les Paul for this as I need to get all those zippy little licks in: 11, 15, 18, 30, 40, 50. for all you guitar geeks. I can remember the riffs okay, but the solos are somewhat erratic to say the least."
