News - Def Leppard Give Slang Album Reissue Update

Monday, 26th December 2011 |

Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell has given an update about the forthcoming 'Slang' album reissue.

Vivian was speaking on his facebook page in response to fan questions about Christmas songs.

Phil Collen first mentioned the album would be reissued in November when speaking to the Birmingham Express And Star newspaper (see Previous News link). It seems highly likely the album will be released as a 2CD Deluxe Edition following on from the re-releases of 'Hysteria', 'Adrenalize' and 'Pyromania' in 2006/2009.

Vivian Campbell - Slang Reissue facebook Quote

"We did once record a song called "Heavy Metal Christmas" during the Slang sessions - tongues very firmly in cheeks! It was actually a proper (and rather good!) song but was lacking lyrics - hence the goof-off title. It'll likely see the light of day when we re-release Slang soon."

What stuff would be included?

"Some unheard stuff, too, as far as I know."

Phil Collen - Slang Reissue Quote

"But I actually love the album. We're actually going to re-release it at some point. We did have a lot of songs when we recorded, different versions, songs that never quite got finished."

Thanks to Rachel.
