Uncasville, CT - Fan Reviews

Fan Review - By GreenLeaf

Wow, what an awesome show. The Mohegan Sun was packed. I had floor tickets, and walked in just as Tesla took the stage. They rocked. Awesome band. It's very rare that an opening band can get an arena to their feet, and scream back every single lyric to their songs. The place just erupted when they broke into "Signs". What a great band. Hope to see them again. Their Setlist: (see main page)

Def Leppard hit the stage about 8:50, an rocked for a solid 1 1/2 Hours. Playing all their hits, with Phil & Vivian ripping leads left and right. What a trip. The end of their set was really awesome. "Photograph" got the biggest response. Just an amazing song. They walked off stage for about 5 minutes, and then came back. For "Bringing on the Heartbreak" and "Pour Some Sugar". Great way to close their set. I had a blast, and I'm sure everyone else at Mohegan Sun did also.

Two words to describe the show - Rock On. I was 13 rows back, dead center. The show was one of the best ones I've seen them play in a long time. It did however start off a bit slow. The first five songs, with the exception of "Women" were a little slow paced. It was right around when "Promises" was played that the place started rockin'.

Highlights of the show were "Rocket", "Gods Of War" and "Rock On". I think the Leppardized version of "Rock On" is exceptional. I was pretty sceptical when I heard that they were remaking that song, but after they played it, WOW. That should have been the extra track for the Rock Of Ages release. I am DEFinitely looking forward to the "Yeah!" release.

My only regret this tour is not being able to see them again. It was a truly a great night. It would have been nice for them to play a few more songs since they did sell out the arena. It would have been a nice "Thank You" from the band. But who am I to criticize. Keep Rockin' Lepp's - D.

"I fully plan on calling the paper to speak to the reporter that wrote the article to tell him how gravely mistaken he is about "Rock On".

The stage went dark and the only slightly visible member was Joe - Sav was playing off stage left. The beginning of the song has no drums and little guitar work (mostly bass) so the other guys left the stage to make a dramatic re-entrance mid song. The lights all came up and they ROCKED the rest of the song.

This version is WAY WAY better than the original. And I'm not saying that from the biased Lep point of view; I'm pretty critical of any band's covers. I think most of DL's covers are obscure and OK at best. This one is awesome - I hope that translates on to CD because some songs sound better live than on recording (like Rock of Ages).

I think because the stage went dark (except for some purple lighting) and all you could really see was Joe, this guy thought it was a tape. It was unmistakeably Joe's voice.".
