Fan Review - By Carrie

As some of you know..this was my first Def Leppard concert, and lemme tell you...disappointed??..OH HELL NO!!..if my sore feet, knees, hands and throat are any indication..LOL The Leps put on an amazing show...the sound was off the hook..I screamed and danced my way through each song (musta looked like an idiot @ times)..but I didn't care..not one bit..LOL

Sis and I thought Rock of Ages was done a lil too fast...but it was still good..and yes Joe...I think we did "take the roof off this f***ing place..LOL since I'm not much of a writer..I'll end off here and if ya'll have any questions..you can ask...but I'm sure someone will have a better review..LOL **TO JOE, SAV, PHIL, VIV AND RICK**

I thank you guys for making this a dream come true for me...I've wanted to see you live in concert since I was in H.S...you are all very personable and energetic and I was NOT disappointed in my first time seeing you live..I loved every second of the show and I hope to see you play live again HATS OFF TO YOU LEPS!! So again to you guys..THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! and here's to another 25 years.

Last nite's show was nothing less than spectacular. I'm so glad I took the time to get a handle on some of the Tea Party's music before the show - I was really impressed....not a lot of rockin' out stuff...but none the less very good. I was able to recognize 3 or 4 songs which was great.

I can't say enough about these guys....they really ROCKED......I, too, got the impression the crowd was a bit subdued. I thought it was just me being oblivious and in my own little world, but I see now others are thinking the same. It's not that the ppl around us were all sitting - cuz they weren't.......I don't know what it was....can't really put a finger on it..... All I can say is I WASN'T!! My throat is killn' me today cuz I was screaming thru the whole show!! I thought Rock On was terrific......Joe on that riser...Yikes!!! Loved the guitar in Rocket - Phil is in such great shape....to go down like that on his back still.......well I just thought it was fantastic!!

Once Queen started playing, I was freaking & the people around us were looking at me like I had 2 heads!! lol So on they came.......it was breathtaking....

Gotta pick from Sav.....well, thought I was gonna die....Viv threw his pick to the girl next to me and it went down her dress. He's laughing and pointing to her and motioning where it went.....it was too funny. After the encore, Sav leans over the stage to a little girl sitting in front of us - he wanted to give his pik to her - he goes "this is for the lass" & he's pointing at her. I thought that was so cool.......she was so excited....as I think her Dad was too!!!

Lots of interaction with the crowd......I don't recall noticing Sav singing (other than background) before.....maybe cuz he's not wearing the headset now.......he really looked like he was enjoying himself singing away to a good chunk of the lyrics...... you'd never know he'd just hurt his back. And when he spoke.....I don't even know what he said.....I just screamed .... all I heard was "thanks for coming out" I don't recall him ever speaking before - could be wrong but it really struck me.

I must say they looked "pooped" at the end....at least Joe & Sav for sure. Lots of big breaths & sighs.....but they looked happy. Personally, they made me feel like they turned themselves over to us for the entire show and that's what it's all about. They sure know how to perform.......unforgettable for sure. Thank you guys for a PHENOMENAL show!!!".

Started out with lousy tickets - toward center of stage, but way way way up high. After learning that my friend (and fellow die-hard) Karie has a problem with heights, we were able to upgrade them (for a fee, of course). Ended up with *excellent* seats - up close to the stage, off to the side (on Sav's and Viv's side) - in a section that wasn't originally for sale but that they apparently opened up at the last minute (107, if I remember right, for those who have a seating chart).

Great show, as always (but great seats can make all the difference). The *best* part was the video screen - especially when they would intercut old videos with the live on-stage action. Very clever, very well-done. Even Flynn (from "LGR") made an appearance! Also pretty cool was how they morphed the band members' faces into each other during the beginning of "Rock On." Even as close as I was, I found myself watching the screen more than the stage.

I wish I'd known I'd end up with good seats and they weren't checking bags, because I could have easily brought a camera in and gotten great photos.

Side note - a few years ago I painted a couple of super-jumbo-size bras - one with the Union Jack, the other with the Irish flag - to throw on stage. The one for Viv ended up dangling from his guitar neck (in Syracuse or Allentown, I can't remember), but unfortunately, the British one landed in the security pit and the no-neck goon just left it there. I really wished I'd had the bras in Ottawa, because they absolutely would have landed on stage.

They added "Gods of War" to the set list from when I'd seen them in Rochester in July. I'm pretty positive that song (especially when combined with the images on the video screen) wouldn't go over well in the U.S. (And I vaguely remember reading that it didn't, at the beginning of the Double Header tour.)

After the show, as the house lights came up, this cute young spiky-haired guy came up to me, grabbed my face, kissed me (yes, on the lips), and said "I love you." God bless the Canadians. But as quickly as he appeared, he was gone - before I could even say "thank you." And then, on the way out of the arena, I saw him doing the same thing to a few others (male *and* female), and I didn't feel so special anymore, but still, it was pretty cool. O Canada!

Checked the next day's papers - two pretty good reviews (in the Sun, four out of five stars) - but one (in the Citizen) included what's possibly the worst photo of Joe ever taken. It makes him look deranged, and old and craggy; I'd be curious to know if the paper received any complaints about it. (Surely that wasn't the ONLY photo they had to choose from.) Both reviews said attendance was 9,200.

Like a fine wine that never goes bad Def Leppard ROCKED the Corel Centre. Myself and my mother flew up from Newfoundland just for this show, and we weren't disappointed one bit. We were able to hear a bit of the soundcheck while at the t-shirt booth. They fiddled with Action but played more of Promises and 20th Century Boy, so maybe that will enter the set later on (hopefully next year's tour). We met Phil before the show as we were heading to our seats, got the Cybernauts CD jacket signed and a picture. He is truly the nicest person you will ever meet. The Tea Party came on and seemed to get the crowd going a little bit, played most of the hits. But we were all waiting for the main eventers.

By 9pm Leppard hit the stage with "Action". The set was nothing out of the ordinary but was still unbelievable. Gods Of War, Rocket and Rock On are the obvious moments here. Standing in front on Phil's side was something that will never be forgotten, being feet away as he soloed away at the end of "Armageddon It" was jaw dropping. After the show we went back to where the buses were parked to wait for the band. Surely, one by one they came out and signed our stuff and took pictures, Joe came out for about five minutes (if that) so we never got anything from him (next time). There were a good many waiting.
