Def Leppard's first Top Of The Pops performance of When Love & Hate Collide from 1995 is available to watch on the BBC iPlayer.

The band performed on the show on 28th September 1995.

The full original episode was shown again earlier tonight on BBC Four TV.

The first time this full show has been broadcast since the original air date in 1995.

Top Of The Pops September 1995

This performance was an exclusive filmed five days ahead of the release of the single which would go on to become their biggest UK hit.

As you can see and hear the song was heavily edited but Joe was singing live as he had started to do on the 1992/1993 appearances.

The current Number One by Simply Red was also performed on the show and was the song which kept Def Leppard off the top spot.

Band friends Bon Jovi appeared on the same show with a 'live by satellite' version of 'Something For The Pain' from their 'These Days' album.

The week after this re-broadcast should see the 12th October 1995 episode also shown again and the band's second performance of the song on the show.

Both performances were shown again on TOTP2 at the time and are currently not among the songs uploaded by the band on YouTube or iTunes/Apple Music.

This first show was presented by DJ's Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley.

BBC iPlayer

This episode which was rescheduled from Friday 23rd February can be viewed now on the BBC iPlayer on TV and via the link below.

And if you already saw it, yes I did remember the intro incorrectly, Steve Lamacq didn't call them American.

Def Leppard's part starts at 21 minutes in an they are also at the start doing a short intro.

Performance #2 Next Week

As mentioned already performance #2 from 12th October 1995 will be shown next week.

Watch Performance #2 at 7:30pm on BBC Four on Friday 8th March.
