Vivian Campbell/98.7 The Shark - May 2022 Quotes - (Transcribed by dltourhistory)

The Stadium Tour/Bigger Stage Show

"Well yeah we're definitely excited to get it going."

"I mean I personally feel, and I think the other guys would agree, that the bigger the venue the more we bring."

"You know our music in Leppard is bombastic, it's over the top, it's anthemic. You know it's joyous."

"It's kind of built for that sort of environment. For a really really big stage you know."

"And speaking of big stages I mean we always work very hard on our production and we're upping the anti for this tour."

"You know we're going out with Motley and Poison and Joan Jett so we really have to try even harder to make the visual aspect of our show even more exciting."

"And, you know, we feel a lot more comfortable on a big stage. I mean the music - we just kind of grow into it you know."

"And I've felt that, you know, the last time we played this sort of a stadium tour which was big in 2018. We went out and did a bunch of Baseball parks with Journey."

"And, you know, it feels natural for us to be on that kind of stage. It feels very comfortable."

New Songs On The Stadium Tour

"We're gonna go out and play a bunch of these new songs on The Stadium Tour."

Fort Rock 2017 Show

"Thank you. We try and bring it each and every show."

Pandemic/Touring

"Well the last couple of years you know. We didn't wanna have a break, but we had no choice."

"So we're anxious to get back at it yeah."

"But mostly for the last decade and a half or whatever we've been working every year."

"You know some years were super busy, others were less so. But we were doing it pretty much consistently."

"So we've had plenty of time off now you know and we're ready to do it again."

Pandemic/Time Off From The Road/Cars

"Well I mean yeah I suppose so. You know but you make the best of the situation."

"I mean I'm sure like everyone, or like a lot of people I'm sure I found other things to do for the last couple of years."

"You know I'm really into cars and motorsports. So I got to spend a lot more time focused on that than I normally would."

"So that's been great, but at the same time there's no such thing as cheap motorsports. So I need to get back to work you know."

"So it's all good you know. But yeah I think we genuinely have always enjoyed our work, you know, and it's been a pleasure to still be able to do it."

"You know we don't take it for granted and we genuinely enjoy doing it."

"So I think we're all excited to do this again."

Motorsports/Rallying

"Yeah I like to drive yeah."

"I do a lot of track driving. I was at the track again yesterday. But I got into rally driving the last couple of years and I'm super excited about that."

"So I did a bunch of National rally's over the last year or two. Some of them went better than others."

"Last weekend I had a big old roll over crash and totalled the car. So that wasn't a great weekend."

"You know that wasn't the best way to leave it. I'll get back to that."

Personal Cars

"I have fast cars. I like old cars too."

"So I've got some cars from the 50s and 60s. So I like to drive slow along the coast in those, but yeah I like to drive fast - Porsches on the track."

"Oh I don't know I'm going too fast at those points to actually look at the speedo. I like to keep my eyes up you know."

"So I don't really know. Don't really wanna know either."

"But yeah back to my real work playing guitar."
