[Sep 29th] - Joe's 1st Song/US Radio Shows (updated-again)

[30th] - So I also forgot the most important part of this...Joe mentioned he had worked on a new demo recording in Dublin that morning. So work on the new album continues.
A number of new radio appearances have been made by Joe including a phone interview with Q104.3 in New York on Wednesday 28th. Joe revealed that he wrote his first song called "Going Forever" when aged 8. Also reciting some of the lyrics and saying he still has the song on tape. He also mentions the karaoke party that Bryan Adams has talked about where he and Bryan had duetted on various party songs at the end of the ballpark tour. In another interview Joe spoke to KLOS FM in Los Angeles. Rick Savage talked to Denver's 103.5 The Fox station from his home in Sheffield on Friday 30th.

A new concert broadcast is being put out on Mon Oct 3rd by XM Satellite Radio that features an acoustic performance recently performed (by at least Joe & Phil) for 40 fans at XM Studios in Washington DC. The show will be repeated during the week. (Thanks: Pam/Mark/LeeAnna).

[Aug 22nd/Sep 6th] - UK's 'Walk Of Fame' (Updated)

It was recently announced that London will get it's own equivalent of Hollywood's Walk Of Fame in Covent Garden to be called the 'Avenue of the Stars'. Like the music hall of fame last year. There will be a 3 hour live TV show on Sep 18th on ITV to select nominees. 100 stars have already been confirmed as automatic choices with new ones to follow each year: including The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Sir Alec Guinness and John Cleese. To qualify stars have to have been born in the UK or Commonwealth. The stars are made of silver and set in black to be placed in the courtyard of St. Pauls church (nicknamed the Actor's church).
It seems some stories about this in the US (offline) have mentioned Lep but all the ones I found online don't. Alhough if they do get in first here's something of interest "Some of the bands on the walkway, whose names have not yet been unveiled, will perform at the launch event.".

Here is the article quote with Lep mention: "The network said an initial 100 honorees had been chosen for their impact on the world of entertainment in the past 50 years. Some of the other artists also getting nods were Anthony Hopkins, The Beatles and 80's rock group Def Leppard. ITV said the rest of the 100 names, chosen by a panel of television and music figures, would be revealed during a live TV special on September 18." from 2 Michigan papers: Lapeer County Press & Bay Times. (Thanks to Gina).

[6th Sep] - ITV have a 3 hour show scheduled for 18th Sep: 8-11pm. No title or details yet.

[Aug 18th] - Lep and Emm/Ian Gillan

Emm Gryner has revealed that Joe has collaborated with Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan. Joe has recorded a duet with him probably to tie in with his upcoming 60th birthday tribute album/documentary mentioned in late 2004 (his bd is Aug 19th). Seems the guys have been hanging out in Winnipeg with Emm. Diary Exert:

"over for the sushi with joe & viv & ricky's manager. sav came later.
John and I meet the boys back at the hotel and then Joe plays me a fabulous downhome duet he did with Ian the singer from Deep Purple" (Thanks to Jason): turns out this may have been in London, closer to where Emm lives, before they travelled to Winnipeg.

[Aug 15th] - Band Spilt with Q Prime - (The Start Of The Beginning Of The End...)

The band have apparently split with longtime co-managers Cliff Burnstein and Peter Mensch and their company Q Prime according to Hits Daily. The band have now signed with a new team led by Artist manager Trudy Green, of HK Management. This seems likely to be the major factor in the band delaying the 'Yeah!' album until early 2006 (Mar according to Phil). How this affects the release and it's promotion remains to be seen. An interesting thing to note is that HK is part of Frontline Management, led by Irving Azoff who handles Aerosmith (since early 1999 - which could make that tour rumour a little more likely).

Interestingly (or worringly...) this team also handles Michael Jackson: listed on his last album as "Management: HK Management, Howard Kaufman, Trudy Green".

The band were signed up by Peter Mensch in late 1979 so this ends an almost 26-year relationship. Peter and Cliff went on to form Q Prime and handled most of the world's top rock acts especially helping Lep and then Metallica to sell millions in the 80s and 90s.
In the last couple of weeks Q Prime added this msg to Lep's page at their website: "After 25 years we say goodbye to Def Leppard. We'll miss you and wish you only the best." That page has now been removed.

[Aug 7th] - Jacqueline Collen on UK TV

Jacqueline as Maeve. Phil's ex-wife (mother of Rory) Jacqueline Collen-Tarrolly can be seen on Channel 5 in the UK starring in repeats of "The Adventures of Sinbad". She played the character Maeve in the series from 1996-7. The show is on from 11:10-12:05pm on Sunday mornings. Her character has quite a prominent role.
Since divorcing Phil in 1995 she remarried (to actor Dean Tarrolly) in 2001. She also currently runs a beauty products firm called Medieval as well as caring for horses and running a website for her fantasy artwork & portraits (Toadstool Farm Art). Which is very impressive.

[Aug 3rd] - Joe Interview

Joe has given a new interview at rockdetector. He talks about the bands early days, and goes on to talk in depth about Yeah! and life on the road. And hopefully supporting the tour crew mention (to a fan) of possible UK dates in 2006 here's a quote:

"We've delayed the release of 'Yeah!' for two reasons. 1) to set it up better & to enable us to tour it more places for longer."
