| Emm Gryner On Def Leppard Collaboration |
|---|
Canadian singer Emm Gryner recently spoke to LiveDaily about her collaboration with Def Leppard. She discusses her piano-led cover of the Lep classic "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and her involvement on the 2006 YEAH! covers album.
Full Quote:
"I saw that you also did a "Pour Some Sugar on Me" cover and later in reading, I read that you're also on Def Leppard's latest album playing piano. Are those two connected? Did they hear that and then love you so much that they wanted you on their album or was it different?:
That's just a really strange coincidence. I did the cover of "Pour Some Sugar on Me" because I had met Joe from the band when I was touring with David Bowie and I actually just sent it to him as a kind of Christmas gift thing and he ended up really liking it so I put it on an album and then they were doing their covers album which has a David Bowie song on it but I didn't play on that song, I played on another couple of different songs but it was just a weird coincidence. I really find it fascinating when people do covers records. It says a lot about who they are as artists. You'd never imagine that certain people would go for certain songs.".
Emm's cover of PSSOM was included on her 2001 covers album "Girl Versions" - watch her perform it live below:
