Def Leppard have won at the 2008 Kerrang! Awards in London held last night. They were named Classic Songwriters and an acceptance speech video was played. This is the bands third Kerrang! award after winning previously in 1994 and 1997.

(24th August) - The video message was shot in front of the stage in the US with Phil, Joe and Sav. Joe thanked Kerrang! for having them back in their pages and also made mention of Steve Clark and Mutt Lange for being part of the songwriting team. Phil said "what songs are you talking about?" and Sav replied "they're all classics". Scott Ian of Anthrax (show host) quote "they absolutely deserve the award as they have classic songs and those albums will be listened to in a hundred years from now.".
