Def Leppard will record at the legendary Abbey Road Studios when they visit England in May. Phil Collen shared the news last week while talking to local rock radio in Tucson, Arizona (Get Back...). Phil Collen Quote "Yeah this one's insane actually when we finish this first leg of the American tour we go to - England, we do a live recording in Abbey Road, we do a show then we go to India, Norway then to Russia. I mean it's all over the place. And we come back here in August I think in the States. And then I think - someone's talking about China, Japan, Australia so I think it's a really big one this." "Yeah and we've got Ellen on the 28th - three nights on in L.A. on TV. So we're really looking forward to that, it's great." Will they dance on 'Dancing With The Stars'? "Everyone keeps saying that - they just want us to play. We could do some idiot dancing for them!." The rest of the interview was about the recording of the new album and Tim McGraw/'Nine Lives'. It's likely (but there's no definite info on this yet) this would be for the Channel 4 show "Live From Abbey Road". Which features 3 bands per episode usually playing two or three songs live in the studio and brief interview clips. The last show in March 2007 featured fellow classic UK rock band Iron Maiden. This would be Def Leppard's first live performance on UK TV since the August 2002 acoustic version of 'Now'. Performed on Top Of The Pops by Joe, Phil and Vivian. If not for TV this could well be something for BBC Radio. Radio 2 and 6Music have been playing the single. Coldplay and other bands have played exclusive sets at the studios in recent years for the BBC.
