Fan Review - By Dave From Wakefield

We arrived at the venue at about 3pm and the road crew turned up and said seeing as though we were early and not doing anything, could we help them carry all the stuff in. So there I was, carrying Phils guitars into what can only be described as possibly the smallest venue on earth. It was basically like a pub tap room! To think that we would be seeing three giants of english music play in a place this small was unbelievable. The crew thanked us and gave us some of Phils guitar picks and a couple of posters.

The band turned up at about 6pm and just walked in, stopping to sign autographs and posing for photos before going in to soundcheck.

The doors opened at 8pm and then a support act came on for 20 mins.

After a slight delay, caused by one of the speakers not working, Man Raze hit the stage. Around 70 people had gathered, but I was right at the front, literally 6 inches from Phil.

The band were on fire, they played just about all of the album, with Phil doing his traditional shirtless routine after the fitst song! The band were clearly having a good time, and Phil was visibly shocked that most of the audience knew the words to all the songs, especially as the album has been pushed back again.

My favourites of the night were Skin Crawl, Turn It Up, Every Second of Every Day and Halo. In fact, they were all good. After an hour, it was all over. As they left the stage, I got both of Paul's drumsticks and high fives from Phil.

However, then the band came out and mixed with the audience, posing happily for photos, signing everything that was put in front of them, and clearly they were all relaxed. Simon told me they were putting together a DVD for future release, and Phil was talking about how grateful he was for our support with Man Raze, possible Def Leppard dates - he said they may do a couple of festivals over here, before a US tour, a Man Raze US tour, but he wasn't sure about any definite plans, or if he was, he wasn't saying.

So thats it, my brief review of an absolutely amazing evening.
