METALLICA's KIRK HAMMETT Plays DEF LEPPARD WASTED Riff At Photo Shoot (Video)

Def Leppard's classic Wasted guitar riff was played recently by Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett at a Ross Halfin photo shoot with video available.

Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett is currently back home in Hawaii after Metallica's recent round of tour dates in the USA.

The last being the Global Citizen Festival in New York on 24th September.

He has been joined by photographer Ross Halfin after Ross was in Los Angeles for the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert.

An event which saw Joe, Phil and Sav reunite backstage with drummer Lars Ulrich for the first time in many years.

In a new photo shoot Ross has been taking photos of Kirk whilst he plays some classic guitars from his collection including one previously owned by Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac.

In the latest post Kirk is seen in a short video clip playing the 'Wasted' riff and even singing "Wasted!" a couple of times.

A riff of course written by Steve Clark on a bus in Sheffield whilst on his way to the Spoon Factory rehearsals room near Bramall Lane in 1978.

Not the first time Kirk has played a classic Def Leppard riff.

Getcha Rocks Off 2015

In August 2015 Kirk was playing with Metallica at the Reading Festival in England and included the guitar riff from 'Getcha Rocks Off' during one of his two guitar solos in a nod to the 1980 show.

The moment was captured and broadcast live by BBC TV.
