[Oct 21st] - The End Of The Spitz?

As you can see below the 27th of Sep marked 2 years since the band's debut show at The Spitz in Old Spitalfields Market in London. It turns out this date also marked the last performance at the venue which is now being forced to find a new home.

After 11 years the venue is having to relocate and is looking for help. So sadly it looks like there won't be a return to this venue by the band in the future. See venue site for details.

The have a "Save The Spitz Campaign" petition. To date they have over 10,000 signatures.

[Sep 28th] - UK Shows in 2008/Album Update

The Spitz dodgy venue ad 2005. On the second anniversary of their debut show at The Spitz, Man-Raze have given an update on their long-awaited debut album.

"Surreal" will now be issued in January 2008. More positive news is the mention of UK live shows. Quote:

"We are deeply disappointed, especially for our fans - who have been so faithful to us over the recording of this first album. We will reward that loyalty with live shows in the UK and the US at the time of the release of the album."

The main reason for the delay (apart from Sparkle Lounge being finished off) seems to be Paul Cook's new commitments to the Sex Pistols who are now playing multiple anniversary shows.

[July 29th] - TV Show Gallery/Info

Man-Raze On TV. For those who didn't manage to catch it, you missed a great show. Man-Raze interviewed and playing live on new show Gary Crowley Presents... on Rockworld.tv (online) and SKY Channel 368 (UK Digital TV), The new show which started on June 10th 2007 featured Gary interviewing Phil, Simon and Paul along with the band performing three tracks acoustically:

'Can't Find My Own Way', 'Halo', 'You're So Wrong'.

The first song a newer track set to be included on the 'Surreal' album. The acoustic version of 'Halo' sounding very much like the acoustic 'Armageddon It'. The show is still featured daily on rockworld's UK website.

[June 26th] - 2006 Simon Laffy Interview

Simon Laffy was interviewed in 2006, prior to the bands Dublin session at Joe Elliott's studio by Club Yeah. (or this site has posted a media interview from somewhere else-hard to tell, the homepage says it's a social network forum). Some quotes:

"Man-Raze is very special to all of us - we are united in the pursuit of musical adventure and the exploration of themes that we respect, such as rock, punk, dub, melody, etc.

Sarah: How would you describe Man-Raze to people who have never heard the bands music? A mixture of the early Police meets Nirvana meets Jimi Hendrix Experience...

Sarah: Using one word, how would you explain the sound of Man-Raze? Liberated

Sarah: How has the music scene evolved since you started as musicians? The development of digital music, computer programming, the internet and digital downloads has utterly transformed the music scene over the past two decades. We are all great advocates of change and revel in the new environment, making use of every innovation to create new music.

Sarah: Is the audience for Man-Raze different than the audiences of The Sex Pistols, Girl and Def Leppard? At present our fans are largely drawn from fans of the other bands. But the release of the album should expand our sound to a much wider audience."

Read the full interview via the Press section. Regarding live shows the bands website states that "Phil is on tour until October". Possibly ruling out any one-off shows during the August Lep tour break.
