[April 19th 2005] - Rolling Stones/Music Samples

Man-Raze have attracted some of their biggest press yet with a mention by Rolling Stone. Phil talks briefly about the band in the article which also mentions their touring plans this summer in Europe and the US.

[Update from the band] - They have announced that the album will be available 'very soon'. They will play live shows "around" the breaks in the Leppard tour (looks like a July start). And they will have other updates including interesting competitions (related to live shows) to follow): in the meantime...

[Apr 10th 2005] - BBC Mention

The band were mentioned on Bruce Dickinson's 6music rock show last night. During Val's rock news she mentioned the Lep tour and went on to talk about the band's solo work.

[Val] - "Phil Collen has got together with Simon Laffy, ex-Girl and Paul Cook, ex-Sex Pistols and they've got a band called Man-Raze. That's "m.a.n hyphen r.a.z.e". What does that mean?.
[Bruce] - "I don't know. I think it's probably a play on words cause isn't there somebody else called Man Ray? r.a.y?
[Val] - I don't know. I think that's an artist isn't it?
[Bruce] - Yeah that's what I mean. Yeah, they can't call themselves that.
[Val] - OK so..no I meant as in painting artist.
[Bruce] - Yeah.
[Val] - Well, Why couldn't you? You can call your band Picasso can't you?
[Bruce] - Yeah but isn't there a band called Man-Ray or something?
[Val] - No. Anyway they've been recording together and they've got a few tracks and they've got a full album completed and they're mixing it. Not sure when it's coming out but if you wanna be apprised of that go to their website which is www.man-raze.com and they're planning to play some shows in Europe and the US this year.



[Mar 26th/April 11th 2005] - Song Lyrics

The band have now added the lyrics to 3 tracks to their site. 'Shadow Man', 'I Can't Live Without You' and 'It's Entertainment'. With samples and more lyrics to follow. Lyrics to the original version of 'Closer To Me' can be found in Phil's Discography section above.

[Mar 14th 2005] - More Pics/Album Update

The band are currently mixing their as-yet-untitled album in London. Simon and Paul handling the mix until Phil returns to the UK again from California. The record will then be finished up ready for release.
They are planning live shows in the UK and the US by the summer. A release date to be determined with labels already showing their interest.

[Feb 12/18th 2005] - Album Tracklisting (updated)

The band have been kind enough to send in the tracklisting of their forthcoming debut album. Consisting of 12 tracks including the finished version of 'Skin Crawl', already premiered on LA radio in January by Phil.
Recording is nearly complete and will be followed by mixing.

[Feb 5th 2005] - Album & Live Dates (Updated Mar 14th)

Phil/Paul/Simon in Studio. The band are currently working in a London recording studio on a full album. The album will be released sometime in 2005. They will also be playing some live shows (hopefully in London...).

[Jan 27th 2005] - Phil in London

Phil will be travelling to London on 3rd Feb in order to continue and finish up recording what will probably become a fully fledged Man-Raze album. The sessions are likely to last about a month or so. Phil previously said he'd like to get the work done by the time his Lep tour commitments start (mid-May at least if starts in June).



[Jan 5th 2005] - Skin Crawls

During a radio interview with Joe & Vivian (by Steve Jones) Phil talks about Man-Raze and 'Skin Crawl' (unfinished version) gets played. The radio debut and first public airing of the band's material. Phil says their style ranges from The Police to Nirvana.
