[Show Notes] :: Showtime 12-1am. Hosted by Chris Hawkins. An hour long replay of the November 1996 special from Sheffield Arena. The concert was the sold-out opening night of the Slang UK tour, Thursday 14th November 1996. Many 6Music shows have replayed tracks from this show but this is the first full replay of the show that was only on Radio 1 once or twice. The full recording from the original (not the full gig) has been in trading circulation since 1996 - sourced from a US re-broadcast.

The recording includes a particularly fine versions of 'Work It Out' & 'Slang' and this show is only one of a handful of professional recordings from the 1996/1997 tour. A great recording of a great hometown show, which, as you know, are becoming quite rare.
