Celebrity Passions: Joe Elliott ::

Joe. Def Leppard frontman Joe, 45, whose band's Best Of album is out now, loves Thierry Henry and squid ink noodles:

I've just spent eight weeks watching every episode of Inspector Morse on DVD: I wanted my wife Kristine - who comes from Iowa - to get a taste of English culture, so I put one episode on and after that we were both completely hooked on it.

I've just come back from my honeymoon in the Maldives, which was pretty stunning,: it's not easy to get to, but it's well worth the trip, it's a great place to relax.

On honeymoon I discovered squid ink noodles: It's a dish I thought i'd never eat. But it was extraordinary. It's the most amazing food i've eaten in my whole life.

Thierry Henry is the complete footballer: Some of his goals are beyond belief. He has phenomenal pace and he's never afraid to pass. He's like a pop star footballer.

Diary of a Rock 'n' Roll Star by Ian Hunter is one of only three books I've ever read cover to cover: Anyone in a band should read this brutally honest account of the trials and tribulations of touring.

Marc Bolan. I once saw Marc Bolan on Top Of The Pops and I found his purple satin jacket, women's shoes and glittery cheeks mesmerising: He was the first one to make me really listen to music.

Absolut Citron Vodka is what I drink now: I love the fact that I don't have to squeeze lemon into it. As you get older you want automatic satisfaction and I don't want to wait to squeeze a lemon before having a drink.

I get a chill down my spine if I see an old stone thatched cottage, particularly if it's been properly maintained: I like old-fashioned buildings, not shiny new architecture.

There isn't a bad line in Trading Places, the Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd film: I like movies that make me laugh, so you won't get me watching things like The Pianist or The Piano.
