Show Intro

"Greetings music lovers and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the marvellous Planet Rock. We've got sixty minutes to play some fantastic rock. And this week it really is a celebration of classic rock. Here's the proof. Starting off with UFO."

UFO

"Fantastic stuff there from Phil Mogg and co. That is from the 1977 album Lights Out. It is of course UFO with Too Hote To Handle."

Aerosmith

"Right all the way from the streets of London over to Boston in MA this is Aerosmith."

"And before that we heard Aerosmith from 1976 I think it was. Title track of their fantastic album Draw The Line."

Thin Lizzy

"Now if you were paying attention while you were bopping along to that particular tune. You may well have found yourself thinking hang on a minute. That vocal it sounds a bit different to how I remember it. And then when you get to the last verse you really are thinking. What is going on?. Well that is exactly how I felt back in 2011 when I had the great privilege of being able to remix that song with Scott Gorham from Thin Lizzy and Ronan McHugh Def Leppard's sound guru. There we were listening to the multi tracks and there's this alternative last verse. And actually alternative takes of the original vocal. Which we felt at the time we needed to dare with people. You have to remember this isn't as a replacement of the original. it's a complimentary alternative version which was on the second disc of the extended version of the 1976 breakthrough album from Thin Lizzy Jail Break. The song The Boys Are Back In Town."

Heavy Metal Kids

"Now by rights I should have actually played this song last week because if you remember it was the Charlie Watts memorial show if you like. Which was kind of subtitled let there be drums. So indeed let there be more drums. This is the Heavy Metal Kids."

"And before that the Heavy Metal Kids from their fantastic second album Anvil Chorus with Crisis."

AC/DC

"Definitely up there in my top five best ever AC/DC songs. What a tune. From that fantastic album that is Powerage. Which happens to be Keith Richards favourite album. Can you believe that. It is AC/DC from 1978 with Down Payment Blues."

"You're listening to The Joe Elliott Show on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up we're going over the bridge with Robin Trower."

Robin Trower

"And before that with an obvious nod to the king himself. The king being Jimi Hendrix. We heard Robin Trower with the title track of his album Bridge of Sighs."

Pat Travers

"Two absolute masters of their craft there in those last couple of tunes there. We just heard from his debut album back in 1976 the wonderful Pat Travers with Medley Parts 1/2."

Judas Priest

"Right then spreading their sad wings of destiny. This is Judas Priest."

"And before that Judas Priest from their second album when they were signed to the tiny Gull label. That album is Sad Wings Of Destiny. The song we heard The Ripper."

Scorpions

"From an album that sparked a bit of a fall out between two brothers there because that album features a hell of a lot of playing from Michael Schenker. We kind of knew at the time but it's been confirmed since that he played on most of if not all of that particular album with his brother Rudolf. And the new guy at the time Matthias Jabs. It is the Scorpions from the album Love Drive with Loving You Sunday Morning."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. But you knew that already didn't ya. So I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time for more of the ame only just a little bit different."

" But hopefully equally as good. So until then I'm gonna leave you with this. We normally go out on a bit of a stonker. But this week I'm going out with something a little bit more lamentable if you like. A great way to end the show. From their third album Sheer Heart Attack. This is Queen with In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited. Until next week see ya!."
