Show Intro

"Greetings everyone and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the magnificent Planet Rock. Great to be with you once again. I've got 60 minutes to ply you some marvellous music. In my humble opinion of course Starting out with that classic parody band I suppose. Would we call them parody, no we'd call them brilliant. This is The Tubes."

The Tubes

"Hailing from the mid west of America I believe but eventually settling of the west coast. Specifically San Francisco. That is The Tubes. Best known in the UK I think for what was a five night sold out run at the them Hammersmith Odeon in about 1975. Where the lead singer Fee Waybill acting out the character of Quay Lude fell off stage 'cause he was wearing these enormous platform shoes and broke his leg. But he managed to stumble back onto the stage and finish the show. What a trouper. Best known probably for the song White Punks On Dope. Covered by my little side band the Down 'n' Outz just a couple of years ago. But there from 1983 are The Tubes. The album is Outside Inside. The song No Not Again."

Woody Woodmansey's U-Boat

"Right let's go back to 1977 shal we and find out what the remaining Spider From Mars was doing. This is Woody Woodmansey's U-Boat."

"And before that Woody Woodmansey's U-Boat. Woody Woodmansey the remaining member of The Spiders From Mars. Still with us. We've lost Trevor Bolder. We've lost Mick Ronson. And of course we lost David Bowie. But Woody's still around doing things. But there he is from 1977. The one and only album by his band U-Boat. The song we heard Movie Star."

The Cars

"From their 1978 debut album which was produced by Queen's long time producer Mr. Roy Thomas Baker. That is The Cars from the deluxe edition. The song is You're All I've Got Tonight."

Kansas

"Right let's head over to Kansas. This is Kansas."

"And before that from a fantastic album called Left Overture. We heard the band Kansas with a beautiful song called The Wall."

The Zombies

"From the quite frank very and criminally overlooked album Odyssey And Oracle that is The Zombies featuring some fantastic vocals by one Mr. Colin Bluntstone. The song is A Rose For Emily."

"You're listening to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up some Duff McKagan."

Duff McKagan

"And before that Duff McKagan. Still love that record. The album is Tenderness. The song we heard Don't Look Behind You."

Wreckless Eric

"It's rough. It's raw. It's emotional. It's anthemic. It is Wreckless Eric. Taken there from the Cash From Chaos III compilation. That is Whole Wide World. What a song."

Sensational Alex Harvey Band

"And now a reptilian request from the Sensational Alex Harvey Band."

"And before that the Sensational Alex Harvey Band from the fantastic album that is Next with Swamp Snake."

City Boy

"Produced by one Mr. Robert John Mutt Lange from the eponymously album. That is City Boy with Deadly Delicious."

Slade

"Now I just took possession of a phenomenal bootleg by this next band. Sadly I can't play that on the air. But I can play this. This is Slade."

"And talking of smasheroo hit singles how many did Slade have?. Unbelievable amount. From the album Greatest Hits Feel The Noize. We heard the immortal Take Me Back 'Ome.

Sparks

"The documentary on that band went into the cinemas this week. Premiered all over the UK. Sadly I haven't seen it yet but a lot of my friends have and they pretty much gave it a one hundred percent thumbs up. I can not wait to see it. It's called Sparks Brothers because it's about the brothers in the band Sparks. Specifically Ron and Russell Mael. But there's also a support cast of fellow musicians past and present and producers and fans. Sounds like heaven on earth to me. And there we just heard Sparks from their album Kimono My House in 1974 with their second ever smasheroo hit single Amateur Hour."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time."

"So until then let's pay our tribute. Yes that pesky grim reaper has been back round again. And has taken to the great gig in the sky Dusty Hill from ZZ Top. What a great guy and what a great voice the man had. Here from the album Fandango is him in full swing. This is ZZ Top and Tush. Rest in peace Dusty Hill."

"Until next week see ya!."
