Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the magnificent Planet Rock. What a pleasure it is to be here. Sixty minutes we've got to play some wonderful music in my humble opinion. Do you remember rock and roll radio?. Of course you do you listen to it 24/7. Here's The Ramones."

The Ramones

"Lot of energy coming out of those boys back in the day. Started off with the immortal 1, 2, 3, 4. And you probably get 10 Ramones songs for every two Yes songs. Value for money?. Well that's down to your own personal opinion. Whether you like The Ramones or not. I happen to love them. And there from their collection Mania we just heard Do You Remember Rock And Roll Radio."

The Damned

"So keeping it Punk-ish. And with their own particular brand of unique intro. Here are The Damned."

"And before that we heard The Damned. It's from a fantastic collection. A box set called The Stiff Records box set. That's got everybody on it from Nick Lowe. Wreckless Eric, Lena Lovic, Ian Dury, Elvis Costello. And of course The Damned. The song we heard. The first ever Punk song released as a seven inch single, New Rose."

The Stranglers

"I'm really loving this latest album by The Stranglers. From which we just heard a track. The album is called Dark Matters. The song we heard is called This Song."

Roger Taylor

"So having wrapped up his British tour recently on the back of a brand new album. Let's ho back into the archives a little bit and listen to some classic Roger Taylor."

"And before that Roger Taylor all the way back to 1981. The album is Fun In Space. The song we heard the opening track No Violins."

Green Day

"Err sorry lads I'm about a month late. That is of course Green Day from that wonderful album that is American Idiot with Wake Me Up When September Ends."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up a couple of prog-tastic masterpieces. Starting off with the wind and wuthering-ness of Genesis."

Genesis

"And before that Genesis. It's from the half-speed remaster 2016. The album is Wind And Wuthering. The song we heard, the wonderful Eleventh Earl Of Mar."

Split Enz

"When I was about 16 I won that album in a competition in Sounds magazine I think it was. Where you just had to phone in and they would post you a copy of the album. And what a great album it is. It was originally released in their home country of New Zealand but when they brought it over to England it was remixed by Phil Manzanera from Roxy Music. And what a fantastic job he did. The band are Split Enz. The album is the UK version of the 1976 classic Mental Notes. The song we heard Stranger Than Fiction."

Ozzy Osbourne

"Now to a gentle man whose solo career started at about exactly the same time as Def Leppard's. Albeit he'd been around for quite a while before then. This is Ozzy Osbourne."

"And before that Ozzy Osbourne. As I said in the introduction of that song his solo career started at about the same time as Def Leppard's. In fact one year later that we would open for Ozzy in America in 1981 and what...Oh if walls could talk. The stories I could tell but I better not. So let's just leave it with the song we heard from Blizzard Of Ozz was I Don't Know."

The Beatles

"Now if you're a bit of a fan of The Beatles you are in for a treat because towards the end of November on Disney Plus there is a brand new remake if you like of the Let It Be movie by director Peter Jackson. It's called The Beatles Get Back. Now the original film showed The Beatles in a very negative dark light. This readdresses the whole situation and shows that even though they were coming towards the end of their career as a band. They still had fun and there were still some positive vibes between all four members of the band while they were recording that album. You've also gotta check out the box set that's lust come out. Which is the 6 CD super deluxe version of the album Let It Be. It's got a brand new remix of the album by Sir George Martin's son Giles Martin. It's also got the original mix by Glynn Johns which has sat on the shelves for 50 odd years now. So it's a fantastic bit of work. There's also all the outtakes and the talking where you can really hear the camaraderie. I definitely heartily that you get your hands on one if you can or at least listen to it. We just heard one track from the Giles Martin remix there. it is the song Across The Universe."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time."

"So until then I'm going to leave you with one of the craziest covers you'll ever hear of a crazy song. This is a band called Puny Human. Taken from a collection called Sucking In 70s. This is their phenomenal version of the Osmonds classic Crazy Horses. Until next week see ya!."
