Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on Planet Rock. Hope you're all well and pretty much getting used to the new normal. It's a little strange that after 70 years of such steady helmsmanship by Her Majesty. Now we have King Charles III. It, for our generation, it takes a lot of getting used to. But as Freddie Mercury so beautifully put it the show must go on. And on it will go. Starting off with Be Bop Deluxe."

Be Bop Deluxe

"From the incredibly brilliant 2018 remix. That is Be Bop Deluxe. Originally released in 1975. The album is Futurama. The song we heard the opening track, Stage Whispers."

The Struts

"In just a couple of weeks time myself and Phil Collen will be taking part in the second of the Taylor Hawkins memorial shows. Which are gonna take place at the LA Forum in Los Angeles, California on the 27th September. I'm looking forward to hanging out with this particular 2st century dandy. His names Luke Spiller. His band The Struts."

"And before that we heard The Struts whose lead singer Mr. Luke Spiller will be singing once again with the Foo Fighters on I'm guessing maybe a couple of Queen tunes. There from the Young And Dangerous album we just heard 21st Century Dandy."

Roxy Music

"It's gonna be a hell of a couple of days round the Taylor Hawkins memorial show because the day after that particular show. Roxy Music are playing the LA Forum and guess who's gonna go and see them. Yes yours truly. There from the Siren album in 1975. A song that sadly they will not be playing 'cause I've had a sneak peek at the setlist. The song is Whirlwind. What a shame 'cause it's a fantastic bit of work."

Bad Company

"OK so nipping back into the 20th century again. Specifically 1974. This is Bad Company."

"And before that from their eponymously titled album. The band, the album and the song all the same name. It is of course Bad Company."

Mick Ronson

"Written for him and given to him by his old boss David Bowie. That is Mick Ronson with a track from his debut album back in 1974. Slaughter On Tenth Avenue. The song Growing Up And I'm Fine. And what a fine song it is."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up we're gonna fire up the Big Generator with Yes."

Yes

"And before that Yes from the album Big Generator back in 1987. We heard Shoot High Aim Low."

Steely Dan

"When the Leps were in LA earlier this summer rehearsing for this tour that we just finished. I actually had the opportunity to go and see Steely Dan at the Hollywood Bowl in front of about 18,000 people. It was a total sell out. When I say Steely Dan it was actually Donald Fagan and about 11 or 12 hired hands. But it was still very much a Steely Dan gig. But there when they were a real band. We just heard them from the Royal Scam album there with K id Charlemagne."

Creedence Clearwater Revival

"Right then it's time to head off into bayou country. This is Creedence Clearwater Revival."

"And before that we heard Creedence Clearwater Revival with the wonderful voice of Mr. John Fogerty. From the album Bayou Country with Keep On Chooglin'."

Slade

"I just read a fantastic interview with Noddy Holder. Which was obviously printable but mostly un-say-able on a radio show. Some of the things that he confirmed happened in the 60. Wow they were kind of eye watering but great read. And there Slade before they really made it big. But what a great piece of work it is. It's from the album Play It Loud. The song is Know Who You Are."

Show Outro

"But sadly we shall choogle no more this week because that's about it my friends. It's been a real pleasure as always. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time.

"So until then let's go out with a bit of Canadian steel shall we. From the album Caress Of Steel. This is Rush and Bastille Day. Till next week see ya!."
